https://x.com/ChrisMurphyCT/status/2031531835453309125 A US senator claims to have attended a secret two-hour briefing on a possible war against Iran.
He asserts that the war plans are confused and incomplete.
Contrary to Donald Trump's rhetoric, destroying Iran's nuclear program is not among the objectives.
Regime change in Iran is also not planned, so the actual government would likely remain in power.
The real objectives would primarily be to bomb missiles, ships, and drone factories.
He also criticizes the lack of a plan to secure the Strait of Hormuz and fears a long and costly war.
>Regime change in Iran is also not planned
The opening move of the war was to kill the entire leadership. Followed up by killing the replacement leadership. The inclusion of this obviously false statement should cause you to dismiss the rest of the information as unreliable.
Is not planned, not wasn't planned. I'm pretty sure they've abandoned that goal and are now just trying to destroy the country.
Exactly. Regime change has become literally impossible in Iran. The more the US and Israel bombs the stronger the support for the Iranian government becomes.
Iranians aren't dumb enough to think that a foreign invader is going to 'save' or 'free' them. Foreign invaders are never your friends. Cambodia is the only exception I can think of and who did the West support in that shitshow? The Khmer Rouge who slaughtered a quarter of the Cambodian population in the most sadistic ways imaginable.
Trusting the US is the surest way to get fucked over. The US has no friends. It only has vassals while ironically being a vassal itself.
Are you sure? Because to my knowledge the Khmer Rouge had no foreign backers except China - not the Soviet Union and not the West.
I was talking about after Vietnam invaded and took control of Cambodia.

A change of leadership is not regime change. That's like thinking that replacing Biden with Trump is regime change. It isn't. Replacing the entire federal government would be regime change. In this context, they mean replacing the current system of government in Iran with something else.
The "lack of a plan to secure the Strait of Hormuz" is also an obvious lie - you cannot say the primary objective is to destroy every weapon capable of contesting the strait, then say there's no plan to secure the strait.
Not to mention the guy's history as a Democrat who has lied about Trump before, and secretly met with the Iranian Foreign Minister in 2020.
No you don't understand. If a person who lies to you and hates you says something you want to hear, it's obviously true. Based Senate Man.
A potential reason why they aren't planning regime change is that they've already done it.
