Iranians aren't dumb enough to think that a foreign invader is going to 'save' or 'free' them. Foreign invaders are never your friends. Cambodia is the only exception I can think of and who did the West support in that shitshow? The Khmer Rouge who slaughtered a quarter of the Cambodian population in the most sadistic ways imaginable.
