Meh. I enjoy a good comeuppance as much as anyone, but come on. Chess is known for being an activity in which competitors try to fuck with each other and throw opponents off balance.
Also, the sport where major players (Hans Rieman) have been accused of using vibrating anal beads to receive messages from others...
That kid is pretty nuts for an 11 year old. Mine was not so aware to be so insulting at that age!
It isn't even an insult. Woman Grandmaster is a distinct rank made up because chess is sexist or some similar bullshit. It is equivalent to the sexless Master. So the kid is rightly pointing out that she isn't a Grandmaster, shes a lower rank that only women can have which has a similar name.
That's the part many aren't getting. He wasn't being misogynistic or insulting at all but he was being technically correct, something tons of boys his age with a brain often do.
Boys can be surprisingly honest when they don't have mentally-retarding hormones in their system.
Or when they just don't realize yet that they can be severely punished for speaking their mind.
Like... under-12 chessmaster.
EDIT: I think that kid is a "bona-fied" 2300 master, eh? Not in a special category.
Having separate categories for girls is good though. Women's hockey & all that. If they're THAT good they can play the men if they want, there's no "Men's Category" it's open to all.
