The Church never persecuted Jews like they persecuted pagans or heretics. Not when they controlled the entirety of Europe, not after Luther, not since then. Only Hitler actually went after Jews in all of German controlled territory and tried to solve this problem. The Church did not support him in that and the Christian world destroyed Europe to stop him.
