Starting off with a The Who song: They sit in judgement of your wrongs.

Get to know them, probably more than before.
For the team, I and AoV will still be around for assistance, guidance, and suggestions if you want them. You should still set up a chat on your side in the event of outage or communication difficulty.
If you haven't modded before, I've given you full permissions, so take a look around. We can eventually restrict access if you'd prefer so that you focus on your specific areas, like only working on the sidebar.
Petition to revoke rule 16.
Mods are fags, and conspiring.
As is tradition.
I want to start slow, and not go right into changing things...but that's been on my list for years, literally since the beginning.
We'll see how the community and the rest of the mods feel, but I'm definitely open to it. Won't happen today, as I think moving too fast would be silly, but I'd say it's a possibility.
The only justification for R16 is to keep the people too spergy to do the easy workarounds from shitting up the place, but generally the worst offenders would do something else rulebreaking anyway.
As I've said, my main concerns are the outsiders coming in with negative intent, and I have no interest in going after regulars here for stuff that isn't disruptive. R16 enforcement is...nowhere on my priority list. I really only care about it when it involves calls to violence...and there's already rules against that anyway.
I've always said we don't need sixteen rules. But, again, I want to take things slow.
I get that you don't want to take a blowtorch to things on day 1 but Reddit tier rules against bigotry are not the way to deal with spergs. Rule 16 is so elastic and the previous guy used that to justify selective enforcement. That's not to say I believe the new group will engage in that kind of bad faith moderation but relying on collateral damage from aiming at a target you shouldn't be aiming at isn't the way to go.
Absolutely agreed. I was just playing Devil's advocate, providing the only positive spin I could for R16.
We'll see what the community and mods want to do but, as I said, I'm personally not a fan of R16, and think the rules could be cleaned up and consolidated in general.
Once you get stickies working, how about a stickied debate thread on rule changes?
Sounds good to me.
I respectfully disagree. The actual justification was so that tribalism and identity politics would remain weaponized against White people and monopolized by our enemies. It was only ever meant to tie our hands behind our backs and keep us from ever banding together, even on a backwoods forum like this one. Zionists don't tolerate dissent anywhere or any time.
I addressed that in another comment. I was just playing Devil's advocate.
Rule 16 is terrible, and I've been against it since the beginning.
Yeah, I saw that right after I posted.
That's in the other thread
