It is quite long but it provides a wonderful explanation as to why boomers just don't get it. They live in a hyper reality where "Reality has no authority on their signs and symbols that give meaning"

I saw an OP post the article again recently and commented on how they showed it to their Mum who basically processed it, said some gibberish and went back to her preconceived ideology which dictates her frame of the world, and how she parses events.

So OP from that thread, you're mum's in a hyperreality and can't hear you.

An older way of summing it up would be "You can't teach an old dog new tricks"

OP's first mistake was discussing this with his mom. Women don't want the responsibility of picking a restaurant for dinner, much less dooming society. No shit she's going to default to her Boomer herd consensus.

Now Boomer men, they saw this happening first-hand, but never felt the need to stop it because they were grandfathered in. Their jobs were secure. It's purely "fuck you, got mine" for them.

Is it a hyper reality or more so not wanting to acknowledge that they may have permanently destroyed the most powerful countries on earth and screwed their own descendants because of their own hedonistic desires?

A little of column A, a little of column B.

I think it's also that their wealth insulates them from how much things have changed, so they CAN ignore reality and go back to their comfortable established lives. The young, meanwhile, have no choice but to deal with reality as it is, because they can't afford to do anything else.

Man, I was just discussing this with a friend. He and I grew up in Seattle and watched as the world said all white straight people were evil. So our options given were be gay, be evil, or go hardcore fake traditionalist. It's not an actual tradition, just the concept of it that we think works. None of the options worked and Seattle fell.

I grew up a little north of there. From what I understand the leftist politics caught up and hit that state hard. Talking with my siblings frankly we can’t remember many good things about that state other than the scenery. We have some family there and they tell us the drug issues are out of control.

I’m in Texas now and things are much better. People are way more kind….Plus we get consistent sunlight which is nice.

I'm the OP.

There was a stab at exaining what the YouTube video is attempting to explain in a book by a very good modern philosopher called "After Virtue: A Study in Moral Theory" by Alasdair MacIntyre written back in 1981.

At the end of the day, the best way I can summarize is that people's fundamental understanding of what is good and what isn't differ, thus when people try to discuss why they are hurt by something bad to another but that other person doesn't fundamentally believe any of what is happening is bad because of different fundamental moral beliefs, they can't hear.

If I tell you: "omg, it's terrible that I'm being discriminated against for being White and it's not fair that I'm oppressed" but in your mind it is impossible for White people and especially men to be discriminated against or to be oppressed then what I just told you doesn't make sense to you. You can't understand it. What do you mean you're discriminated against? You can't discriminate against Whites. What do you mean White men are oppressed? The oppressors can't be oppressed.

The real reason discourse is breaking down though is one-side isn't being entirely honest with the other. My mother doesn't want to tell me she doesn't think White men can be discriminated against or oppressed and she especially doesn't want to tell me she thinks that's a good thing. She wants White men to be discriminated against and oppressed because she feels they deserve it because of the discrimination and oppression White men did to women and non-Whites but she won't openly say this so it sounds like we aren't understanding each other. It sounds like the boomers are out of touch.

The boomers aren't out of touch. They just hate you because their fundamental moral values have taught them that you are the bad guys. Now, we're coming up with ways to explain why boomers aren't understanding because it seems like they aren't but the boomers get it, they just don't want to reveal the fact they think you're a bad person. There's a clash on fundamental morality.

Another problem is what we're discussing is highly complex. That philosophy book I recommended is written such that if your IQ isn't over 120 you won't understand anything you read. These concepts are not for the average person. Most boomers aren't that smart (just like most people) so the average boomer doesn't really understand much of what we're discussing. I sure as hell know my mom doesn't, she's a bit of a bimbo. These average boomers were taught something, their kids learned something else from experience and the concept of what either learned is too complex for average people to properly discuss between one another so it leads to both sides thinking the other is out of touch. What I'm saying is we've entered a realm of communication that unless you're smart, you won't understand how to communicate now or you'll purposely be deceitful because you see who you're communicating with as your enemy.

Macintyre (Auron) in the Total state also references that philosopher but uses the Lions and Foxes metaphor.

Using your Mum as an example, it sounds like she just doesn't understand what's happening, but since she's secure in her reality, it might as well be on the TV or in a book, not happening to her own Son. Remember boomers are the first generation to be completely propagandised. And unlike us, they got the carrot and wealth to go with it. We aren't getting the houses and families so naturally the propaganda falls short. But for them, they got the propaganda and the rewards that it promised.

Yes, definitely. Everything they were told worked out for them so they don't question it. When I say it doesn't work for me, they insist it must be a deficiency in the me rather than the system which worked for them. Their understanding of things beyond this is limited.

It's 76 minutes, you attention-deficit nigger. If you can't read text more than 5 lines long or watch something longer than an average modern bing bing wahoo's cutscene, go join the skibidi toilet discourse with the rest of the children and keep out of adult discussions.

watch something longer

We can watch longer but not to waste our time on whatever carl of akkad or his handlers are pushing when it could be said in 5 minutes.

For people who didn't watch the video it's about one of Jean Baudrillard's books applied to current problems which Peterson did ages ago.

No, if there's something of value to be had it can be conveyed more succinctly. A video needing to be that long to convey an idea is just a failure of communication on the creator's part.

It's public record that Carl Benjamin, aka Sargon of Akkad, is a paid shill for the Natalism Conference. His name, among others, features prominently on their website, and he also spoke at their actual conference earlier in the year.
