This has to be fake. Actuaries and insurance companies are the last people who will put their feelings over the bottom line. They are some cold blooded motherfuckers to even get into that line of work.

And where do you people live and what do you drive to get quotes this high? I have full coverage on a car that I bought brand new, and my rates have been about $1250 per year for the entire time I have owned it. And it's a WRX so the rates are higher for it than some grocery getter due to all of the people who drive like idiots and wreck them.

Plausible. They charge women less for the same insurance and "non-binary" is women. My guess is this is actually an edit of Male/Female.

That's why I suspect it's fake. Women get in a dozen fender benders for every wreck that men get in, but men total the car when we do wreck. So the rates being different is completely data driven.

Since "non binary" makes it impossible to differentiate, every insurance company is going to default to the higher rate or they are going to lose money. And one thing insurance companies never do is lose money on purpose.

You're probably right.

But just for fun, what if their actuaries found:

  1. Very few men are willing to select non-binary even if it means a discount.
  2. The women who would select non-binary are willing to pay a premium to be "affirmed."

Then they wouldn't pass up the free money by putting a third classification in between male and female. It's exact premium determined by the balance between #1 and #2.

Edit: I found a reference to OP's image. https://ghostarchive.org/archive/svTif

To my surprise, they found "non-binary" to be cheaper than female.

Daily Mail has confirmed the trend - finding the costs of a comprehensive policy for a 2016 Hyundai i30 was about $730 cheaper for a 25-year-old non-binary customer than a male - bringing the cost from $2,300 per year to $1570. The same policy for a female customer was about $1,917.

This is a myth people love to parrot when it comes to insurance rates. The real reason men pay more is far simpler: men drive more miles per year than women. That's what outweighs women having a higher accident rate.

What if women are statistically more likely to be brainwashed into thinking they’re mentally ill? Wouldn’t the tranny stats default to the female price?

Men drive more and often in more dangerous areas/time of day. 80% percent of it is probably just that.

With the rising cost of vehicle parts and repairs, even slow fender benders often result in total losses now. So female rates are probably about to skyrocket.

I don't know, non-binaries usually get it from behind so it doesn't cost their insurance company.

This used to be the case, car insurance premiums have skyrocketed 55% since 2020 because of state regulations. While you’re correct on your assessment of how they would run their companies, you forget that liberals have had free rein over most state legislatures for decades now. Michigan is a shining example of this, where no fault was combined with UNLIMITED PIP coverage, forced by the state legislature, underwritten by insurance companies. This skyrocketed Michigan to have insurance premiums 81% higher than the national average. This is a win-win for socialists and car insurance the same way Obamacare and health insurance was a win-win. You’re forced to subsidize others via premiums and risk assessment is almost removed entirely while the company can say line go up.

Michigan is more than twice as expensive as the 2nd highest state.

I had a black State Farm agent who told me it all started when some woman's car died. She pushed it into a parking lot but injured her back, and then the courts decided her PL/PD should cover her injury. This is far beyond what PL/PD should cover.

In other words, the f--kery of "employer-sponsored health 'insurance'" begun in 1942 has now extended it's screw-over tentacles into auto insurance.

When everything has been captured it doesn't matter who was the last holdout.

living in a place with lots of non binary drivers would explain the high quotes, tbh.
