I'm speaking about Canada in particular. How can it be an emergency for a frozen land that it may be frozen with slightly warmer temperature? Not even less frozen.

The meta was that since Global Warming stopped having cold spells of minus 40 Celsius for weeks on end every winter in Northern BC, the Mountain Pine Beetle larvae could no longer be killed, so the entire province became a tinderbox.
Most people like that talk about 'the planet' and assert that we're all going to be inundated. Believe it or not, some otherwise rational people think that it will result in human extinction. If you make your dire predictions about things that are far enough in the future, you'll never be called out.
Worst part is that they are very confrontational about it. I'm all for saving species, saving forests, cleaning the oceans, cleaner air etc but the fact that I'm not going pro100% electric everything I'm sub-human in their eyes.

Yes there've been "rapid" increases & decreases (+/- 2C in a century) since the end of the Great Ice Age and every time warm periods were a blessing for all life on Earth.
Same thing this time. Not to mention it's still rebounding after the Little Ice Age ended ~1850. The CO2 didn't rise for 50-60 years after, but temps did!
Cold kills 9X more people than heat every year, including all the people who live where it never even gets cold. Decade after decade international studies show this. Eh?

They have the longest coastlines of any country
Most of the coastline is Arctic Archipelago, which is unsettled land with no relevance to 99.9% of the pop.
They'll have a longer one if sea levels rise, and better weather for farming.
That might matter if AGW was real.
They also have more permafrost than anyone but Russia and 70% of Canadians live South of Seattle. Real global warming would be good for Canada.
