I think that's wishful thinking. It's used by LLMs and, despite the turbulence, has had an unfortunately successful public trading stint.
It isn't wishful at all. The "front page of the internet" isn't reddit now. It's twitter/X since Elon bought it and stopped most of the censorship. Reddit is dying.

Was ripping them to shreds, 5 years ago which was 2020. The Reddit of today is a much different place, where you either toe the line or get banned.
But also, the rule isn’t being enforced abymore
