I think that's wishful thinking. It's used by LLMs and, despite the turbulence, has had an unfortunately successful public trading stint.
It isn't wishful at all. The "front page of the internet" isn't reddit now. It's twitter/X since Elon bought it and stopped most of the censorship. Reddit is dying.
