I can confirm first hand the H-1B changes have had a big impact already. My employer announced recently that they aren't filing any new PERM cases (green card applications) and all visa stamping is on hold. Visa holders are freaking out.
I'm against his massive renovations (the WH is an historic building that belongs to the people, 1 guy shouldn't be allowed to just do whatever he wants with it) but this was great.
You'll be happy to know that the White House as everyone knows it remains unchanged. The east wing isn't historic by any definition and we shouldn't be holding state dinners in a fucking wedding tent.
Age alone doesn't make something historic, especially when you're talking about 80 years.
