Exactly this. He's not stupid or crazy, he knows exactly what he's doing and he revels in it.
I do think he's actually quite dumb. He's an idiot who thinks he's highly intelligent. But yes he isn't just someone who repeats after other idiots. He's the evil idiot who makes the other idiots repeat after him.
He is debate club intelligent, and treats the entire world as such. If you can talk over, dismantle, or outwit your opponent fast enough then you are just right and they are stupid and wrong.
So because his brain can move pretty quick at assembling some nonsense (high APM leftover from his SC2 days), and that gives him a leg up in any argument, he think that means he is just better than people.
That puts it best. Because debate clubs are fucking retarded in the first place. The only thing he's good at is talking extremely fast with outstanding arrogance. But the second he meets someone who isn't impressed by that he gets outed for the retard he is. The debate with Norman Finkelstein is a very good example of that.
The Jontron debate is probably the best example of how he succeeds at it.
Because Jon was right in all ways, but wasn't sure enough of himself. So Tiny was able to act offended and aghast at what he was saying, and throw a bunch of barbs to knock him off his platform. So even when Jon was saying the truth, he looked nervous, untrustworthy and kept backing down on things he could have doubled down on if he had confidence in himself. And that made the entire audience be convinced he was wrong, enough that Tiny could claim victory with no one saying otherwise.
Something I'm sure Finkelstein here had, as I've not seen that one.
Ironically what leftists always accused Charlie of being and doing in the comments of his college debate videos. Yet the difference between them was night and day.
He's the definition of a midwit, especially his constant sourcefaggotry and inability to entertain an idea without an Expert™ telling him what to think.
He's a caricature of the caricature of the stereotypical dumb American who knows absolutely nothing about the rest of the world. His knowledge (or rather absence) of geography and international politics is truly unbelievable.
