I can understand people rooting for him since he was a "4chan guy" who got a show and was cancelled, but surely there's a limit on how long one can coast on that favor.
His work is mean, unfunny and meaningless. He doesn't deserve the high regard people have for him.
I mean, over-socialized is just another flavor of badly-socialized too, it's tautological.
But yeah, Sam's either intensely misanthropic (I personally believe this one) or he just never learned how to move on from chest beating to making a respectful truce or being a bro. It's just posturing and shit talking turned up to 100% almost all time. It's fine for skits, but his interviews are just eye rolling.
I think his work is closer to actual post-modernism from the early 20th century.
It is an insane and absurdist take on reality that uses that meanness and insanity to actually force people to recognize the larger failures of society. The actual art, is in many cases, not being the actual spectacle of the art because what is being displayed is your inability to walk away from a trainwreck that you are pursuing for money and ego.
I mostly like his social commentary even though I disagree with some of it. He says things that need to be said. Not a fan of comedians anyway. Nobody ever accused Joe Rogan of being funny, but he's useful too.
Sam Hyde is a badly-socialized, unfunny fool.

Better to be badly-socialized than over-socialized like the rest of us.
RIP Uncle Ted

It's amazing how sarcastic and dark that time was.
