I have some vacation time on Friday so I’ll take my PS4 to GameStop to trade in (since they sell sports cards now I’ll get some packs with store credit). Once I got a gaming laptop I was spending more and more time playing games on it to the point where I was only using my PS4 to watch streaming. Now that I have chrome cast I really don’t have a need for it anymore. I’m officially in the PC Master Race. I’ve always bought Sony since I was a senior in high school and my dad said if I got a PS1 he would buy my first game (terrible deal since he bought Riven).
My main reason for getting a gaming laptop was that I couldn’t get quest mods in PS4 Skyrim. Now, if I ever come across a PS2 I’d happily buy that again but I saw one at a game store with 5 games for 700. From now on it’s Steam for me. I think I may do a playthrough of old Sierra games as well
Not a fan of PS3 emulations. I've been trying to emulate infamous on my deck and it just lags, I tried on PC and the same issue.
First two infamous games were great. Of course they fucked up the third one with a soy millennial hipster protagonist, and now the franchise is in limbo. Classic western dev.
To its credit, I don’t recall them leaning too heavily on racial grievances with that protagonist, who was native American. I imagine if that game came out now it would have been WAY more obnoxious. But it has been 10 years since I played it.
The "evil" ending of Infamous 2 is still one of the best in gaming. The entire standoff with Zeke, after an entire game of his redemption arc, is one of the strongest emotional gut punches I ever got.
I went from feeling awesome that I killed the nigger, who I hated the entire game to the point where I almost just went Good to avoid her, to just feeling like shit about everything.
All in all shockingly good writing in a game about a gravel voice guy with lightning hands.
It depends a lot on the specific game. Demon’s Souls I can get to run better than hardware for example. There’s patches and tweaks for pretty much every game, so if you mess around a little you might have a better experience.
I played Demon's Souls at 60 FPS on my steam deck. Great experience.
Truly the way Mika Zaki intended
Drakengard 3 literally runs better than hardware, to a point where its not even a question whatsoever and getting it operational was one of the earliest tasks for PS3 emulation.

Following the steps on this site I got Demons' Souls to run well, but that's probably the most emulated game for PS3. I'm not sure if other games are as well supported.
