He grew up in a smaller city in a Whiter time, with probably fewer than 10% middle-eastern muslim kids at school, whose parents moved to get away from other practicing muslims.
When they are a very small % of the population, a larger proportion of them behave from the sheer pressure and lack of enabling of Islamic culture around them.
And obviously, the kids don't have the same impulses as grown M-E and black men in their 20's till 40's. Especially those in significant groups who enable their worst behaviors.
My mixed race schooling went so well for everyone involved we just re-segregated it. Either by gerrymandering the district line to make All X schools or by high school just two halves of one campus.
But that's among the real groups of various races, and not whatever upper class immigrants he went to school with back when crossing the border meant money and status for most of them.
He had probably 5 kids in the entire school that were of immigrant background and everyone thought it was exotic and cool and so much better then his boring culture.
I've been there and still see it as the "enrichment" of my area is recent. My oldest had 3 black/mixed race kids in the entire school and the same mentality existed.
Once you get more of that people turn sower fast. I'm seeing more and more pushback against immigration despite me being the only conservative in my friends group.
