I wish half the things Reddit says period was true, because we'd be living in a way better timeline if their nightmares were actually happening.

Instead, it's a censorious shitshow that's slightly better than the rest of the internet average.
Nothing will change until people start leaving the likes of Steam in their millions and we go back to a pre-2005 gaming economy where you just buy the game, install and crack it, and join an independent companion forum for tech support and modding. The way things were always meant to be.

Steam has everyone by the balls. Countless money sitting in people's libraries. Physical discs are practically dead and most people don't want to have a different app for every publisher.
Which is why GOG keeps getting more of my business. I don't have to worry about a ton of accounts, I just get an installation executable and move on with my life.
We need a proper alternative. Playnite is decent, but not as good as steam yet.
Funny enough, a forum becomes a cascade of clown farming and racist jokes when the game developer doesn’t moderate their Steam forum.
