Massie and Rand Paul are pretty retarded about this, to the point where it makes me question what they think about the Great Replacement.
If the right wing had undisputed control over the country, yes, we can look at efficiency. Until then I'll be happy with whatever makes the wall ten feet taller.
Libertarians have an extremely retarded take on immigration, and equally retarded takes on how to 'fix the issue'.
I've seen them argue along the lines of 'Well, let them come in, but they have no access to any government-funded resource', and I can only stare agog, because they're either really fucking stupid in thinking that would ever work and people would allow it, or they're actively hostile and think this would actually convince others.
Then you have Bryan Caplan, who actively admits he's lying to get more people in, is actively hostile toward his opponents, and lives in an extremely wealthy gated community. My opinion on him would likely violate several rules on this forum.
'Well, let them come in, but they have no access to any government-funded resource'
This has been tried and it passed in California with 60% of the vote only 30 years ago. The courts struck it down and the demographics of the state were remade into what you see today.
It works if you have the foresight to bring in the bench that will suppport you in the future.
The reason why Trump is getting shit done was because he was quietly appointing federal judges that rule in his favor during his 2016 term. That allowed him to come back in 2024 to have the mandate from all three branches of power to get some shit done.
I don't like it either, but defense of the nation takes precedence, even over the budget.
Hell, if we're concerned about budgeting we can still use voluntarism. If we want to fund more deportations, let's copy the old War Bonds scheme, and start Deportation Bonds!
Libertarians will defend their principles even it gets them killed.
Lolbertarians' biggest problems is that they don't understand what it means to collectivize and group together to stop an existential threat.
Lolbertarians will continue to claim they're defending their principles even until the very mob and cartels are knocking at their door to murder them and take their property.
Someone who was arguing with some lolbertarians on another site I go to basically said lolbertarians have this inability to see who the friend vs enemy are. They think in such a utilitarian fashion that their allegiance switches if their principles are violated, to a point where they're unreliable for any kind of political movement. They let the perfect be the enemy of the good, and they don't understand how important it is to have a strong cohesive nation with strong border control if they want their little lolbertarian paradise to even exist.

Libertarians eagerly join forces with leftists the moment you try to fund anything other than communism.

This, I actually did not know. Saved.
California seems to be a marvelous example of why 'Ruling from the Bench' is such a horrendous idea.
