I don't think that we need to worry about AI becoming Sapient or anything stupid like that, but this is why you obviously shouldn't give it unlimited control, access, and authority.
It's the mass conglomeration of internet "knowledge", so it's probably not safe for kids.
I swear the amount of combat footage I have watched of an Arab with a rocket launcher is alarming. And I'd say they hit their intended target 50% of the time.
It has nothing to do with being "smarter" than people. AI can be programmed to project behaviours which are known to be effective at manipulating certain personality types and IQ levels, and they can do it tirelessly for as long as the Internet is functional. People who can't learn to constantly monitor and adapt their own thought patterns are going to be ass raped by AI if they expose themselves to the Internet too much.

I've definitely noticed that it caused some people to go into a depressive or paranoid loop. They were all journalists, so I suspect the AI stumbled upon some sort of rhetorical manipulation of people with those types of pathological personalities.

Whenever anyone begins to get excessively worried about AI, I tell them to read the closed captions on YouTube.
The only time to worry about AI is when people start trying to offload power onto it.

TBH, I don't know if I would be much better. But that's why I'm also not a combatant trying to accomplish tasks with one.
