One regulatory matter involving Tesla ended on Trump’s first full day back in office. Trump signed an executive order Jan. 21 halting the operations of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, an agency within the Labor Department that reviewed government contractors to ensure they followed civil rights laws.

Hilarious phrasing for forced DEI

On Feb. 24, an administrative complaint filed against SpaceX in 2023, during the Biden administration, was dismissed by the Department of Justice, according to a filing in federal court shortly after the dismissal. The complaint alleged that SpaceX discriminated against refugees in hiring, a claim that SpaceX denied. SpaceX had countersued, saying the DOJ’s system of administrative law judges violated the Constitution. SpaceX agreed to drop its countersuit Feb. 28.

Nooo, you have to hire illegals, I mean “refugees”.

Wait, wasn't that an issue for Elon not because of 'haha don't have to pay the government because I supported the winning side' as the retarded left put it.

But because SpaceX is a company of NATIONAL SECURITY importance so the need to vet HEAVILY to ensure company secrets aren't leaked to foreign entities.

A lot of what they do is ITAR/Non-proliferation regulated. Literally can not hire uncleared foreigners.

I recall in The Everyday Astronaut Tim Dodd's tour of Starbase, Elon even had to ask Tim to blur out part of the video because the rocket parts they were walking past might be classified under ITAR.

Nothing quite like working out legal contradictions by dropping the problems off on the lap of those who politically disagree with you.

That's my take on the situation. If you can build an orbital launch vehicle you can build a suborbital intercontinental ballistic missile.

It was a trap. If he complied they would have come after him on national security grounds. The whole point was to use lawfare to punish him for disrupting their plans

Almost like the previous administration was using regulatory agencies as weapons against its critics.

They mean that Biden's handlers were trying to force SpaceX to hire foreigners / illegals, and Trump ended that and also ended forced DEI hiring.

Count on the lying press to try to frame this as ''unethical Musk-Trump collusion''.

In a few months the democrats will steal the house and the senate and target him again…
