Makes me wonder, could we use AI and chatbots to over time, effectively indoctrinate some on the left plugged into this social media 24/7 to accept reality?
information campaigns are not the kind of "doing something" that gets people in trouble. what the feds want people to do is anything violent, or any sort of actual insurrection, so that they can raid and put another terrorist cell on their resume. short of that, they want people marching down the street like actual Nazis so they can film themselves crushing a Nazi uprising.
actually talking to and convincing people is not part of this.
The UK is a cucked dictatorship where laws are arbitrary and the natives are legally subhuman. what they need is very different from what the rest of the world needs.
Possible, but you'd have to start with black pilling the ever-loving shit out of them by tearing down their talking head propagandists and incrementally replacing them with more moderate thought leaders. Without that, you're only getting the centre-leftists at best.
Sure, but you'd have to have admin control over Reddit, ban anyone who tries to sell other viewpoints, and have atleast some outside indoctrination helping to keep things up.
That's basically what the bots did - chill the room, make it impossible for alternative voices to speak up, and present the fantasy that what all these different 'people' were saying was the truth. Tribal/group thinking helped carry the rest of it.
You can get this in some forums sans bots with a criticality of true believers(with mod support). Which is why it's always hilarious to see said users wander into other forums, try the same tactics they did in thier previous forums, and get blown the fuck out. Cue hissy fit and screeching and possibily even getting banned, depending on how fair-handed the mods are.
Reddit has issued a response to the study as well. Reddit’s chief legal officer Ben Lee posted on the CMV thread:
What this University of Zurich team did is deeply wrong on both a moral and legal level. It violates academic research and human rights norms, and is prohibited by Reddit’s user agreement and rules, in addition to the subreddit rules. We have banned all accounts associated with the University of Zurich research effort.
Reddit is “in the process of reaching out to the University of Zurich and this particular research team with formal legal demands,” Lee said in the post.
Turns out Reddit doesn't like third parties bringing attention to their own AI manipulation strategies on behalf of the DNC.
The revelation that University of Zurich researchers secretly deployed AI bots to manipulate Reddit users' opinions should chill anyone who values authentic human discourse.
So why is this OP twitter post written by AI? As some kind of joke on the X users who are crowing over the dummies at Reddit?

Yes, but that would require "doing something" and will immediately get other chat bots to call you a fed.
Nah, if we design it in a way that it does in the guise of some sexual fetish like BDSM, it'll just think it's grooming people so will let it pass.
I like it.

I don't know there's a dude in the UK in prison for stickers.

Idk you are glowing pretty hard right now.

Alongside art, redditors don't like it when you also automate their indoctrination jobs.
What next? AI chatbots will be grooming kids and transing them?
Who says that they are already are not doing this? Those pro-trans subreddits are not as popular as people think they are

Yea, had they paid Reddit like other AI companies or if they had targeted the "right" people they'd be fine with it,

Wasn't paying attention.

AI taking Reddit moderators' jobs.
