Another Clint Russel video, about the (somehow still) continuing Joe Rogan/Dave Smith/Doug Murray drama.
An interesting tie-in, a connection that Clint was making, was this onslaught pushing for Experts™ (and for the exclusion of certain regime-unfriendly voices) at the same time that they're pushing for war with Iran that the powers that be seem to want.
Say what you want about Trump - and it would have been his fault if we had bombed Iran, to be fair - but I appreciate the restraint...and hope it holds. All it will take is for someone to make the right emotional or financial appeal, and I worry Trump will reverse course...but for now I very much appreciate him saying 'yeah, we're not doing that shit.'
this onslaught pushing for Experts™ (and for the exclusion of certain regime-unfriendly voices)
The best most recent counter to the Experts paradigm is the huge number of licensed, credentialed, and experienced medical professionals and researchers who spoke out or attempted to speak out against the predominant global COVID-19 narrative but were ignored and silenced, sometimes forcefully with punishment, because The Experts Are Who We Say They Are - making it a meaningless qualification of credibility in general topics of discussion. I want an expert to diagnose my medical condition. I don't need an expert to tell me what government policy should be or if we need to go to war.
Yeah. Although there was a shit ton of evil going on, on the purely informational side, I think the Lockdown Era was a good thing. There's still a ton of people sleeping, but those who weren't already fully programmed all went 'wait, what the fuck?'
And that can only be good. Experts™ and the legacy media largely lost their power. Covid, Trump Term 1 (Russian asset, and all their other related lies) put them in the ground. They still have sway over many - too many - but they no longer have critical mass, and enough people think they're fucking jokes to thoroughly embarrass them, as they deserve.
I like how they're doing the same "muh experts" playbook that we saw coming from the left on things like COVID and "gender affirming care," just completely shameless.
Yeah. He objected to the term "neoconservatism," when he wrote a fucking book about it. When he was quite young (an Expert still?). Also, he keeps advocating for war...but has he even been there served? He was young enough at the time; if he believed in war so strongly...sign up.
I floated the idea right after the debate that it was some kind plan; Murray is clever and an effective communicator and I don't believe for a second he simply got steamrolled.
Watch the first two minutes. Murray immediately takes charge, accuses JRE of being one-sided, and defines the debate for at least the first two hours. He came there with a goal in mind.
But I doubt it has anything to do with an Iran war. I'm confident that a candidate from either party running on an anti-Israel or even anti-Jew platform would handily win 2028 in a 2016-esque upset. "You can't insult your way to the Presidency," says Jeb!, but people were so sick of this walking on eggshells they went with the totally unwinnable, totally crass candidate. The same type of unrest now, but over Israel and/or Jews.
This is what people like James Lindsey and Doug Murray have also noticed, and they so fear 'the rise of fascism' from their upbringing, that they're willing to throw themselves on the fire to prevent it. A fire among intellectuals that's been stoked by a Greater Israel that's panicking over the public sentiment they're seeing.
They have to control or contain these long-form debates and forums because if there is honest debate people are going to say fuck this 1% who are dual citizens that don't have allegiance or a care for the country - which especially the young online crowd are increasingly saying.

Israel is polling at like 20% approval with zoomers. Even overall Republican polling has dropped near 50% iirc. At this point they've lost the war. Their future is a very slow motion car crash. The only question is how much negativity they can mitigate, if any.

To be fair, its equally likely for him to reverse reverse course after a few bombs for the same reason.
He is quite unstable, and prone to grandiose gestures to force people to the negotiating table. Helpful at some times, but might come to bite us all in the ass when he looses a bomb that people won't be a bluff he is trying to call.

My favorite part of all this is James Lindsay mocking people for calling Douglas Murray a neocon. One book, Jewish Made Neoconservatism: That Sort of Thing is My Bag, Baby - by Douglas Murray

If Trump went anti-Israel, he’d lose all of his funding and win like 65% of the popular vote.
