I've fenced before. Like in any sport, especially physical sports, there's a massive difference. I wasn't amazing (pretty good in the small pond; I'm tall and had a nasty lunge) but, man, going against the girls felt totally different. Some of them were pretty good, but it never felt like a real match, and it was generally very lopsided.
So, while it's true that there is coed fencing, it's also true that it's laughably one-sided, and I'd imagine that especially true the higher you go. And, as someone else said, this wasn't a coed event...so men don't belong there.
Every time I see leftist/liberals try to argue there's no difference physically between men and women, I can only come away thinking 'You people have never physically interacted with a woman in your goddamn life, have you?'
The female ones saying it have always, ALWAYS faced men who deferred to their sex. "Don't hit a lady" or else "if I lose maybe she'll like me" 😜 but never "Ok girlie, it's time to get serious!"
I have only done this very briefly but when it comes to fighting my desire to win outweighs any desire to go easy on women. And I'm not that good that I can just mess with them.
And fencing is fighting to me which is perhaps why it is not my sport
I fenced back in college for a credit and girls/guys have huge differences in advantages that can make either side massively unfair.
Like guys have much larger chests, meaning larger strike zones, but also have much longer reaches. While girls are much smaller and have lower centers of gravity.
These can be good or bad depending on the person and matchup, but regardless of anything its nowhere near equal.
