Disgusting betrayal of your child’s memory before they’re even cold, just so you can virtue signal. If that piece of shit had murdered one of MY kids I’d already be cashing out every cent to my name to pay some lowlife in lockup to shank him
Because all the kids who are on track to be college sports stars had parents who pushed them from an early age to focus heavily on a sports career and quite frankly you're already a retarded parent if you do that.
The odds of success are way too low, and for football especially, the costs are way too high. It's like instead of putting money in savings for your kids you spent it all on lottery tickets. The only ones who don't seem stupid for doing that are ex-athletes themselves, because they can tell what is needed to succeed and their kids have a good chance of having the right genes for the job.
Nepotism and having personal connections also goes a long way. Lance Stroll wouldn't be an F1 pilot if his dad didn't own the Aston Martin racing team.
Baseball is no better. Some of these "academies" cost $30k+/ year and will only take your kid if you can start them early so they're guaranteed a decade of tuition. If you say that you just want them to learn the basics, they get offended. Like if they're some ancient Kung-Fu masters and you're mocking the mystery of their "art."

This gets even more absurd when you realize that mastering the basics of a martial art is pretty much a lifelong endeavor and will carry you further than anything fancy.
Now, I'm skeptical since none of this is public, but I think there's some basis to at least the ordering and rough numbers. I was interested to see how many of the top 100 were white. (E.g., 6 out of the top 10 and 11 out of the top 20)
One, they're losers whose high point in life was their time as an athlete in high school or college, and they learned too late that only a very, very, very select few will ever make the cut to make sports their career. So they're trying to live their dream job vicariously through their kids by pushing them into making the same mistakes they did at their age.
Two, similar to the above, except they never even made the cut into their high school team (or even the Little Leagues) and have been regretting it ever since.
Three, they think sports are the only worthy pastime that any boy or man can pursue, and since they can't play them anymore or have any kind of fun (that they don't feel ashamed of personally), they put their kids through it. But it's all ultimately a mask for how insecure and weak they really are.
Four, talented school athletes gain a lot of acclaim in their local communities, and that ends up going to the sport dads' heads, which turns them into status seekers themselves.
Five, the ultra-competitiveness of sports gets the dads into too competitive a mindset as well, to the point where they prioritize their kids' performance in a bunch of ultimately pointless games over their actual wellness.

Standard Christcuck behavior.
Why are so many sports dads such fucking faggots?

The windowlicker? 🤣

I was thinking more opportunity and physical health costs for the child.
But you're right, wherever retards congregate someone will inevitably fleece them of their money too, that includes wannabe hall of famer parents.

I mean football and basketball is basically just black worship at this point.
Here's a list of (allegedly) the top 100 NIL valuations in college sports:

I can hazard a few guesses.

Because they thought they were totally going to to go pro because they were really good in their small town baseball team.
"Big iron on his hip..."
... "And he's here to do some business, with the big iron on his hip. Big iron on his hip!" 😎
I've always preferred this rendition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFRa0KZsGhc
Plauche's son joked "my dad was a great shot. He hasn't missed in decades." He wrote a book about growing up with him
We know why.
I know the left image, but not the right. I'm almost afraid to ask.
The father of Austin Metcalf who said the murder of his son definitely wasn't racially motivated and he's already forgiven the killer.
