The entire point of DMC is Dante’s father rebelled against the demons and stopped them from enslaving and destroying humanity. It’s literally why Dante’s sword is named rebellion. Playing the “demons we’re the good guys all along” idiocy retcons Sparda into the BAD GUY, it also makes Dante the villain in every DMC game for stopping and mass slaughtering demons.

Can't wait for the Netflix XCOM series that says the aliens are space refugees who were then enslaved by humanity and fought back, and the XCOM organization is just a modern day Schutzstaffel.

Well that's depressing. The theories of Project Bluebeam is that an alien invasion will be faked and it will provoke an intense global patriotism to get the people of all nations to rally behind a single global government... but I think it'll be the opposite, an alien invasion will be faked, and the people of all nations will submit to the invaders and prop them up as a single global government. That way the fleshcrafted degenerates can consume aborted fetuses on live TV and people will excuse it as "it's their culture!"

It's like the "One Drop" rule, but for generalizations. Hellboy was a good demon, so therefore all demons must be treated as good. Parthanax was a good dragon, therefore all dragons must be treated as good.
It's not even that. It's build on a pathological resentment towards your own kind, your own culture, that you identify with The Other out of spite. As illustrated with the Trench Crusade debacle. The legions of Hell and their mortal followers aren't presented as good, or even misunderstood, but the creators and community managers have explicitly stated that the followers of God and defenders of mankind as 'just as bad'.
