‘kintsugi’, quite literally meaning ‘golden repair’.
Oh fuck right off. LOL.
For every ‘follow this guy’ mission, there’s a jaw-dropping set-piece on par with (or better) than anything else in the series.
"So, why do you like Assassin's Creed?"
"Gorgeous set-pieces, my man!"
The imperfections - cluttered UI, map screen icon vomit, clunky parkour, clutzy combat - are all present and accounted for, but it feels like Ubisoft isn’t trying to hide them or tuck them away
When the fuck were they trying to hide them?!
This could just be "Assassin's Creed still sucks, 5/5."
Tourists need to be forcibly ejected from all our hobbies, preferably into the sun.
We’ve officially entered the era of industrial gaslighting in video game reviews. These AC Shadows reviewers are openly describing a 6/10 game and then giving it 9s and 10s. And it’s not about payola or access. This is purely ideological. These journos are compelled to inflate scores in order to combat the chuds. The audience score is no longer simply detached from the critics. Now the people’s disdain inversely determines the legacy media consensus. The wrong people disliking AC Shadows is reason enough for journos to boost their scores. Not even gamergate ever predicted it would get this bad. The entire game journo industry has lit its credibility on fire to protect a 6/10 ubislop game, and all Ubisoft had to do was put a gay black dude in a setting where he didn’t remotely belong.
I guess Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla ditching most of the major mythos in the modern world to just become historical pieces and Action RPGs with stealth elements instead of pure stealth with combat backup elements just don't count.
Because from everything I can see, this is literally the same exact game as those were in a new setting, so the sentence lies in every single way.
They also claim it's the first game to have a female assassin in ten years, but Odyssey and Valhalla both had canonical female protags and a chick for the modern day stuff. They are just making stuff up
Ubisoft is still seething to this day that the "we tacked on a male MC at the last second because we were forced to" from Odyssey ended up being like 70%+ of the player choice. They bring it up constantly and you can tell it fucks them up.
Ironically that the MC Alexios and antagonist Kassandra work way better because the writing staff were trying so hard to make him a petulant child and her a badass marysue, leading to him being fun to play in regular quests and her a decent villain.
I was in a retail shop today, checking out the merchendise
to my surprise, the local one near me didn't even bother to stock physical copies of Nig's creed, they told me if i want to buy they have digital codes (sent either to mail or phone)
which signals one thing, not even retailers are buying this crap.
Publishers should be careful what they wish for by pushing an all-digital library. Retailers used to eat a loss with shipped physical copies because they didn't want to deal with shipping them back to the distributor, but now GameStop is dying and Walmart is downsizing their video game department.
i mean why even bother with physical copies when most game copies require you to download like 50GB+ of updates just to launch the game? and afaik its fucking MANDATORY on gaystation, no idea if its the same on Xbox but i'd recon it works the same way
Remember back in the old days, when companies sold you complete games and "editions" also came with the DLC on the DISK instead of a downloadable code? (Dark Souls prepare to die, mass effect 1, Fable 2 and many other examples)
Seems like gamers aren't buying as while it's hard to find accurate sales on anything but Steam and consoles, on Twitch Yasuke simulator has more viewers than AC Shadows lol.
Well, it peaked at just under 65k simultaneous on its first weekend (compared to Veilguard's 90k). We'll see if it's impact on Ubisoft's finances are jaw-dropping.

Yasuke's magic 8 ball says: 'All signs point to yes.'
Grummz is quoting an internal Ubisoft source as saying that the PC sales represent 'only' 27% of sales. The middle of the road estimate on Steam DB is 230k 'owners,' which would include promo codes included with graphics cards and the like.
SmashJT is stating that the budget for the game could be as high as nine hundred million dollars.
Steelmaning these numbers Grummz's source is spouting means everyone who's 'owning' the game (230k/0.27) bought-in for 70 bucks, that's just shy of 60 Million gross revenue-- a loss of 840 million relative to SmashJT's cost estimate.

Huh. I had no idea they cared that much about authenticity.

6/10 is being pretty generous given the Avowed-tier town guard AI behavior lmao

Even Yasuke is more fun to play than Naoe. At least he can bulldoze through doors and eat damage like nobody's business.
That's just basic realism. A giant nog in the land of short nips will absolutely body their paper architecture and noodle arms.
One of the other reasons why a game about stealth and assassin's was the worst place for him.
Historical?

Does it still? Or was it Asmongold alone having more viewers than AC Shadows, where he was streaming Yasuke Simulator?
They keep pushing “2 million players” not x copies sold
They pulled the same crap with Avowed. "Jank means it's creative!" "You don't need moving NPCs!"

Microtransactions in premium games should be an automatic negative review.

Is this the it's a great Assassins Creed game because it doesn't feel like an Assassins Creed game review?
I'm getting TONS of glowing articles on my phone's news feed. Mostly about the SICK GRAFIX
