The main problem with what Kendrick did is that I can't understand him. I cannot understand the words coming out of his mouth.
Obviously this was supposed to be some deconstruction of America with Samuel L. Jackson in the Uncle Sam hat and the black supremacist thing (likely conceived for a Harris presidency), but it's impossible for me to have a reaction. Even when I can make out what the dude is spluttering I don't get the references.
Apparently nobody else in the stadium did either because all the crowd shots are people standing around confused.
This was the year of mumble rap for the Super Bowl and national championship. Both went over like soggy toast with only the usual suspects screeching how beautiful it was because actually quality of anything has been irrelevant to them for over a decade now.
I’d rather watch a hologram of Elvis, James Brown, or The Doors
Found a halftime show Creed did a few decades ago and watched that instead. God damn how much times have changed and I'm not even the biggest creed fan
I like them and started liking them even more when their song Higher became the soundtrack to the Rangers World Series run
Yeah getting Star Wars prequel vibes. Didn't like them at the time but compared to the slop they want normies to like now (mumble rap, Disney star wars woke slop), it looks way better now lol
Kendrick isn't a mumble rapper. He's considered a lyricist, he won a pulitzer prize.
He was handed a Pulitzer prize, when no one even knew that rappers could win 'Pulitzer' prizes. Sounded like a virtue signaling participation trophy from left-progressive white Americans to everyone else.
Well yeah, but my point stands he isn't a mumble rapper. He is considered to be one of the best rappers because of his lyrics. Which makes his performance even worse. He shouldn't have been that unintelligible
A turd with an award is still a turd.
He didn't call him a mumble rapper. He said he mumbled during this live performance.
9/10 rappers sound like shit live for this very reason. It ends up sounding like mumbling.
