Yet again, I see dissident right wing people on X are surprised when a Big Tech cancels someone off their service for political reasons.
Shopify had yeeted alt right people off before, notably cancelling merch stores after the Charlottesville riot in 2017.
DO NOT USE THEM, they are off limits to you. Yes, that means you will have to put some effort into your merch store. BOO HOO. Nothing resilient is ever easy.
>just put in effort
Here's the thing, they attack at the platform layer because it's the easiest and quickest. If you make your own platform they go after your hosting provider. If you co-locate they go after the datacenter. If you have your own datacenter they go after your peering agreements and domain registrars. The payment processors. Your bank account. All of these things have been attacked. Having armchair know-it-alls pop out of the well and suggest building your own self-sustaining internet moon base to deliver products to earth via rail gun is not helpful.
Go ahead, create your own website. Start getting popular with free information sharing with zero censorship.
Oh no! All of a sudden you can't process payments because financial institutions will no longer let you, so now you're going to have a hard time expanding your bandwidth and handling the web traffic by paying for servers.
What's that? You got enough money together where you can just buy your own servers and handle all that traffic?
Oh no! All of a sudden you can't get donations anymore because all the sites that process those things have banned you because hate speech or some bullshit.
What's that? You we're able to get the money together independently to keep your website on line and have your private servers run?
Oh no! You've been deplatformed! The ISPs closed your website down by taking away your domain name.
What's that? You created your own website on your own servers running on a network outside the US?
Oh no! Now the search engines are taking you off their search results, and if you don't know what the website is and directly to look for it, you can't connect to it!
What's that? You have a big enough following who privately donate to you directly so that you can keep your website going on a server outside the US, because everyone is censoring you?
Oh no! You've been named in a lawsuit by the ADL and SPLC, they want you to provide all the information about your donors, who goes to your website, and so forth. They promised they weren't going to use that info to dox people, even though they have no legal reason to want that information, but now you going to have to go to court to fight and keep your user information private.
What's that? You won the lawsuit and were able to keep all your information private?
Oh no! Now some DA with direct connections to the ADL and SPLC are charging you with conspiracy and saying that you are an accomplice to hate crimes, hate crimes that have not even been proven to have even taken place, and they are going to get a warrant to get access to your information servers website and everything else, but they totally promise that they aren't going to make that public, and now you have to go back to court again to fight this and to get an injunction to even give up that information before the cops can come steal it. Good luck with that! I'm totally certain that they aren't going to leak that information.
But yeah, other than everything that was mentioned above, you are totally free to start up your own website.
I would pay good money to have an internet purchase delivered via lunar railgun.
We're at the "just start your own bank bro" stage of argument.
What's your solution? Just wondering. I still feel trying all these angles is still worthwhile because it forces them to have to act either way and that isn't always easy.
Realistically, we need to find a way to get all the leftists to cease to exist. Not sure how exactly though.
Genuinely surprised he wasn't removed the last time he went off about Jews, that's usually a quick switch flip for them.
Guess its a good example that if you are rich and connected enough with unyielding fans, you are still somewhat protected even when you cross the red lines. For a time anyway.
I think sometimes we forget how much of cancel culture/censorship partially just revolves around sales. A lot of people are only cancelled when they stop making money or lose their popularity, and partly why lgbt groups are so beloved by companies is because they're highly responsive to ads (or at least were during my brief time in marketing).
Kanye dropped the price of his products to like $20 each, I'm betting they were selling terribly and he was trying to dump stock
Also known as being easily brainwashed
Kanye cleared his entire store of all products except a single white shirt with a swastika for 20$, which meant he wasn't making them a dime anymore and likely influenced the decision like you said.
But yeah, look at how many guys get cancelled long after their prime. Neil Gaimen is a recent one and it took a decade of him being irrelevant for it to finally breach the surface instead of just sliding off his back like all the previous attempts. Cosby took 30+ years before anyone would hear it. You could go on and on.
The other end of that coin is that it mostly happens to guys who its beneficial to cancel for a lot of people. A random nobody dunking on Nick Fuentes during one of his retarded spiels is likely to get a lot of Leftie seals jumping to his store to give him money, which people will notice and repeat. And once this happens enough it becomes a tidal wave that can crush people who aren't stable enough (mentally or financially) to wait it out.
Even before clearing his store, he was selling sweatpants for $20; he used to sell them for hundreds of dollars each. I suspect something is fundamentally different now and he's not making much money before the stunt
I agree with everything else though
I agree, definitely don’t use their outlet, but the core of the problem is that jews control every industry there is through their few gigantic conglomerate corporations, and through the influence of Larry Fink’s BlackRock, who can wield his insane share of investments to dictate policy at all major corporations, even if the CEO isn’t a jew mafia cohort. In essence they have a monopoly over our entire economy which allows them to get around public outrage that’s generated by censorship and various other unpopular policies, because they just coordinate and implement those policies across the board so the consumer has no alternatives. The only solution is their removal from our society altogether, boycotts don’t have the impact necessary to change policy at this point.
They are slightly worried at the moment, here in my town, there are giant billboards in tourist areas that say "stop anti semitism" they have been up for almost 15 months, which is rare for billboards in the area.
Let me add another reason to avoid Shopify: it's Canadian. And the people who work there are absolute faggotlords.
It's funny to hear some of his earlier work and he's ranting against white people and various Christian denominations and was getting award nominations.
"Web Storefront" is such a trope at this point I'd bet ChatGPT can practically make one from scratch.
(Just hire a pro, though. It's only a matter of time before Shopify gets pwned and literally 80% of the non-conglomerate web shops get hacked in one go. At least those amateur sites will all have one-off exploits)
Not really - the reason web storefronts are so easy to make is because you're using a plugin to piggyback off someone else's system. There's a lot of things going on that you have to get right, and you'd be mad to trust some nutter selling swastika t-shirts to get it right and not leak his entire customer database because ChatGPT told him how to do it.
I agree, building a reasonably useful storefront from scratch would take a couple engineers a couple months, and that's assuming you use a payment processor like Stripe. Even when using spotify, Kanye made a custom UX which probably cost a non-trivial amount.
Shopify should be forced to continue serving people properly and face an inquiry into this.
Kanye's not alt right. Some of you guys are, he's not. He's fucking schizo and off his meds and have brief months of clarity between his schizoposting.
Shopify is essentially punishing him for being mentally ill.
