Is it? Because then you just go home, get paid for the last day, and don't have to drive in tomorrow.
I've only been fired once and it was over the phone after I had already gone home, and it pissed me the fuck off because I had to drive all the way back to turn in my ID so I got an extra days worth of commute for nothing.

It is. Obviously, this guy is a worthless sperg, but that doesn't justify bad treatment that they give out to absolutely everyone. The fact that he has a white beard and is working for a postal company at that advanced age suggests that he is not terribly well-off, so losing his livelihood at the spur of the moment isn't great news - and now he has even less time to deal with it.
How companies are allowed to treat employees in America is wild.

You know my address, come pick it up if you want it.
Could have been worse, he could have fired him right as he arrived, before he could clock in, making it a complete waste of time and gas for showing up.
People here are still detoxxing from pro-corporate BS because people on the right have been consuming propaganda about 'job creators' and that corporations are people (my friend) for decades now.
The guy is an annoying sperg, but this is pretty stupid. I don't get why the American right reflexively sides with employers over employees. Probably decades-long Fox News indoctrination with BS.
Huh, where are you seeing that? I don't think that's been true for a long time now if you consider MAGA to be "the American right". Fuck corporations and shitty bosses. That said I'm not going to reflexively side with stupid worthless employees either. You euros are reflexively against business and making profits, hence your regulations that strangle job creators that you put in quotes for some reason below.

This is true, certain 3rd world countries like Sweden will do anything they possibly can to get in your way of doing something successful. Germany too, endless bureaucracy.

In this very thread. I did mean MAGA, if it were Mitt Romney types, it would not be worth remarking on - they consider it a feature and not a bug.
Fuck corporations and shitty bosses.
Good for you.

This guy is definitely very stupid, but I really doubt that they would have treated a decent, valuable employee any better.
You euros are reflexively against business and making profits, hence your strangling regulations across the continent.
We definitely have problems, but just because countries like France, Spain and Italy go to the other extreme, does not mean that it's great that you can be fired for any reason with 0 notice. At least, it's a trade-off. It probably results in more economic efficiency, but in my view that is vastly outweighed by the insecurity this creates for employees. There are European countries that have functioning economies while also protecting employees' rights, so it's not an impediment.
So, bets on him being one of those crazy homeless people since NO ONE will want to employ him after this.
He already has the beard for it..
He did the meme.
art imitates life
Lately life has been imitating art lol
So keeping score:
If you fuck a cuck, does that mean they aren't a cuck any more? I guess it depends on who is doing the cuck fucking.
OH SHIT THE MEME IS REAL
I hope he was planning to either be his own boss, or retire, after doing this.
I mean that is an asshole's move to fire the guy at the end of his shift. You didn't have to take advantage of the man you intend to get rid off.

Why? Doesn't he still get paid for the day?
I mean yea, it's really shitty to fire him on such short notice but that doesn't change when it's still on the same day.
Isn't he gettng paid for his shift

Listen, this is just normal everyday business at The UPS Store, Kinkos, and FedEx retail locations.
I feel really bad for everyone there.
There's more suicidal people in there than a transgender clinic.
