Texas school district removes the Bible from libraries citing state law banning sexually explicit material
“It just makes sense to have the Word of God in our school library. After all, it is the book of wisdom. It is the bestselling book of all time.”
They only ever attack Christianity. Makes you think.
Not really, Christians aren't going to shoot up a magazine office, or decapitate someone just for drawing an image of God, sincerely or otherwise. It's lazy and cowardly tactics because they know there won't be any significant pushback to the tip of the spear continuing to press inwards.
Nothing makes me think. NOTHING
That's the spirit!
Its funny, given how Christianity nurtured the institutions that gave Westerners the luxury to attack it.
Guess when Westerners cut the flower of religion, they thought its flora would never wither. And yet, the society and institutions that built up the west are now decaying with it.
Funny how Science (theory craft, curtailed by experimental results) is only applied to everything but religion. And now, we ran the greatest experiment of them all: a 100 year reign of a secular society among multiple cultures. And what has occurred (although be it, gradually), the complete decay of said societies.
If they actually gave a shit about principle, they would stick with what works, and re-introduce Christianity back into public life. The US constitution states "separation of church and state," but not "separation of church and public life" because the founders never wanted a Godless society, just one not ruled by the Catholic or English churches.
Hate how the far left treats those two statements as if they were the same, but guess that's a given, seeing how intellectually dishonest they are.
I bet their librarian keeps copies of homo grooming books in reserve to quietly hand out to students
Librarians were the employment demographic that most strongly supported Biden in 2020, so I'm not surprised.
And in case you were wondering, the employment demographic that most strongly supported Trump was "US Marines".
Makes ya think.
Looking at the article, this seems to be a hissyfit move as they returned the Bible to library shelves after the backlash kicked in. I bet we could use the same checklist they used to remove the Bible to remove the Quran which would've been funny to attempt just to see them piss their pants.
if memory serves, the Quran contains an explicit passage about Muhammad having sex with a nine year old. they would defend it with their lives.
I agree with your general point, but practically speaking, are there really any copies of the Quran in school libraries in Texas?
I'm making an assumption based on how liberal teachers are.
Those terms are acceptable.../s
That's not in the Qur'an, and certainly nothing explicit like that. Muhammad did marry Aisha when she was roughly 6 years old, and fucked her no later than when she ~9 years old.
In Islam there is the Qur'an. That is the written text that is most like the Bible in the terms of being a core text.
Then there are the "hadith." These are stories about Muhammad, the time when he lived, and his wives and companions. These are relayed from person to person (the "chain" of the hadith) and then they're graded by trustworthiness. For instance, they are roughly in this form: "John said that Fred said that Bob said Henry said that Muhammad used to cut his toenails before every battle." There are basically no disagreements amongst Muslims over the Qur'an, but there are huge disagreements over hadith.
Hadith can also be nasty. They can cover bathroom habits, jacking off, if Muhammad fucked his wives while they were on their periods, how to cut your beard, etc., in addition to more religious content.
I think you're probably thinking of something in the hadith.
Here's an example of a hadith that involves sex, Muhammad, and Aisha:
https://sunnah.com/bukhari:230
I asked `Aisha about the clothes soiled with semen. She replied, "I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and he would go for the prayer while water spots were still visible. "
that's probably what I was thinking of. I'm no scholar of Islam, it's just something that I've heard mentioned during a discussion on Islamic texts. naturally I assumed it was the quran, but this seems more likely.
You have to have a "no shitheads" carveout in the rules so you can very quickly tell guys like this to get fucked.
Such carveouts only work in a relatively homogenous society where the vast majority can agree on what would fall under that heading.
They'll just call us shitheads
They do that already.
Yes, but now they'll have legal ways to punish that.
Well they certainly told us Christians. These idiots can’t understand that some material may be inappropriate for certain age groups and some things are better left for the student to check out on their own when they are old enough.
What a strange looking fellow! Do you think he supports deviance and tries to defy state law? This archived article from April 2023 implies that the staff under his watch certainly do. Relevant text:
Could the Bible banning be a tit for tat? I think so.

found nothing triggering in the Talmud, naturally?
I remember finding a picture of that Venus painting in a book in third grade with my friends. We were caught laughing at the naked chick in a clam and got yelled at. Good times... no idea what that book was.
They don't have the balls to go after muslims and their quaran.
