Back around 2015 or so it came to light how many heroes in comics have been replaced by POC or women and they said it will not affect the movies for a long time. Turns out that was a lie.
Comics are not expensive and don't need to be profitable, especially when considering marketing for Marvel and DC. The main point is that it allows WB and Disney to make what ever woke movie they want and claim it's canon.
Even with movies being meh Hulk and Spiderman toys are going to keep this industry afloat for a long time.

And the all new all different is what they are using for movies so they can say “it’s in the comics”.
