Rather misleading, if still not a great sign. Not saying I agree with the statement, but here's what he said:
Honestly pretty moronic to say that, since you know it's going to get taken out of context like this. Why on Earth would you say "it's the worst thing they've ever seen" publicly, before the game launches?!
Also...oooof.
You're a major studio, why the actual living fuck would you do such a thing?
Retards.
Kind of funny. Still out of context, but one way to read this is, the devs think it's bad in its current form, but they are fucking clueless because they have no experience...but are going to make it into a good game. Yeah, sure...
Cheap labor. Honestly, all of this stinks to high heaven to me. You'd think such a main line title would be done by veterans who have done these games for a while now. And this isn't gonna help the "this game looks bad currently" stigmata he's put on the game. I'll be a disaster, probably on the Concord level.
This. Also DEI. Need to have a whole bunch of intersectional feminists working in departments formerly staffed by men so we can have more insufferable girlboss caricatures between all the pop-in landscapes and moonwalking horse animations.
DEI kills art, as Elon put it, but it also absolutely kills QUALITY. Merit matters for a reason.
Probably not quite but, yeah, pain is coming down the pipeline.
Unless consumers are even more retarded than I think.
Also, I don't think it's cheap labor. Big companies like this don't seem to care about saving money anymore, as stupid as that is. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they were overpaying these newbies compared to what they're bringing to the table.
When you get that big, it's all money laundering and corruption. If they are saving money on these people, it's probably not based on their wages, but from ESG bucks, because they hired a bunch of trannies, nonwhites, autists, and homosexuals, or something.
Is it misleading? It sounds like he's basically saying, "the junior devs said it's the worst thing they've ever seen, but they're just junior devs with no experience, so what do they know? It's gonna be good, trust me." It actually sounds even worse once you have the context.
Ubisoft Montréal used to be staffed by those you'd expect from a studio that recruited in Québec.
That was obviously extremely "racist/sexist" and was quickly "fixed" with DEI hiring.
The credits names at the end of the games now look more like a zogged diverse shithole. Which matches the woke shit vandalism of the games.
I imagine on a production that big there's a lot of grunt work to go around.
