I'm not sure about this. I feel like an independent democrat would siphon off more votes from Harris than Trump. Maybe their internal polling says otherwise.
Harris voters are mostly dead or digital and aren't capable of switching sides. It makes perfect sense that he would steal more actual votes from Trump.
I know plenty of right leaning people around me who don't like how Trump is so "mean" or something equally vapid that like RFK. They know nearly nothing about his actual policies or stances, but he's "nice"
It looks like those results are a bit mixed, but it seems RFK hurts Trump more in "battleground states," at lest according to this pollwatcher site Real Clear Politics: https://x.com/RCPolitics/status/1826326969207980492
The proper comparison is him dropping out while endorsing Trump vs staying in the race.
RJK endorsing Trump would give back all his lean-Trump voters and a good chunk of his lean-Harris ones. That'd be way better than staying in the race regardless of which side he's pulling from.
Listening to Richard Baris, RFK voters are basically pulling from both Biden & Trump in general; but unfortunately pulls from Trump in swing states, particularly among the working class, union dem, whites. That is a group he's actually trying to re-gain ground with.
RFK is a lunatic on a whole bunch of issues. However, if he stays in his lane (in the CDC for example), Trump could basically groom him into the controlled opposition for the Dems. If RFK & Tulsi are the heads of Left-wing opposition going forward post-Trump, we'll be in a pretty good shape.
I wouldn't compromise with them, but they're the few who are willing to learn.
I'd actually prefer someone like Miriam Williamson who is basically just "liberal" because she's highly empathic. That's actually someone I can plead my case to, because she's going entirely off of feels, rather ideology using feels as a shield.

Yes, they're mostly women.

I thought he was taking more from Trump. But who knows.

RFK picked to set-up and overview a large-scale double-blind study with a true control group into the risk vs benefits of vaccines.
And mysteriously, another Kennedy gets assasinated.

They're the kind of leftoids I can tolerate and compromise with.

RFK should be the head of the CIA - he’s the only person who can be trusted
Hopefully the final head of the CIA
