The use of AAVE to sound hard is always so cringe, you know the people saying this shit are either baizuo retards or middle-class negroids who are insecure about never having grown up in da hood.
What is aave? Or is that a new way of saying ebonics? Yea, I’ve known some black ppl who basically grew up like the Cosby show but try very hard to act like what you see in a rap video
Excuse me, stewardess, I speak jive.
One of my favorite movie moments. Plus I love Leave it to Beaver. Just hang loose blood help gonna come on the rebound on the med side.
"Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da help!" is becoming very relevant these days too.
Yes.
It's an evolution of the idea that black-centric grammatical mistakes collectively represent a language rather than a dialect.
Call me old fashioned but wouldn’t it be more appropriate to just correct bad grammar? I mean I get people speak to their friends a certain way but I’d say those young people should learn how to speak in a professional setting
Ironically it would be old fashioned to do that.
New fashion is to call you racist, additional irony aside given your own situation.
I would just look at what they do in more objective areas. Wouldn't it be better if High School graduates could do algebra? I think clearly so.
I think it is "African American Venacular English" or something?
Oh. Ok. Thanks
Stop using acronyms. I swear to god you people need to get off of your goddamn phones.
The term "AAVE" is almost older than all cellphones, and definitely older than smart phones. Somehow you went nearly 30 years of never hearing this one.
Smith1980 didn't seem to know the term either and he doesn't sound that old from his discussions here. I've barely heard it used outside of academia and KiA-adjacent forums, primarily referring to journalist papers. So one would assume it's easily recognizable to people wasting their time reading the drivel of neomarxists.
Maybe it was known with some of GenX but never passed on, because I have rarely seen anybody my age or younger use the term.
Correct. It has never been in common use. Acronyms only serve to obfuscate information and should not be used unless it is a term that is in common use.
