It was some sort of modified female mini-basketball to try and give the illusion of speed and fast pacing ( because women's basketball looks like men's basketball ran at 0.5 speed ).
It was not nearly as impressive as men's sports, as usual, but my God the narrator was trying to pretend it was the most exciting thing that ever existed. Screaming so much to try to hype this garbage up, it was extremely irritating.
