Sorry for raging. Not only is it woke with modern day dialogue and marvel humor but the art style looks worse then Fortnite and the trailer makes it seem like some hero party shooter then a dark fantasy RPG. How did they get from DA:O to this slop?
Here is the trailer if you guys missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F3N4Lxw4_Y
Based comments on vid.
Let me guess, ''That will be CAD$80 for our fantasy fag simulator please.''
( Like Baldur's Gate 3, Hogwarts' Legacy, etc )
My bet is it’ll be a fantasy BR or MOBA. That seems to be the modern hotness.
Bioware's been a dead company for years, slightly before ME3 but definitely after. DA inquisition managed to be ok with alright gameplay and average story but the characters themselves were mediocre.
Their last hell Mary passes were ME Andromeda to show they could make an ME game without Shepherd, Garus or Tali, turns out they couldn't. And Anthem where after the hype and it's launch, this was the response from it's main competitor. They're a joke waiting to be shut down like Visceral, just another EA studio drained of creativity for a profit margin.
Unfortunately.. all those DEI devs will go on and infect other companies.
Hopefully if these ongoing studio cuts continue, there won't be any vacancies available for them to flee their sinking ships.
The game director is a tranny and its main purpose as stated in an interview was to make the game for queer people. Nobody will buy this slop even resetera hates it.
Here's the thread from 4 days ago that you posted in if you missed it: https://kotakuinaction2.win/p/17tKsLfhyr/x/c/4ZBKWDWkykr
I understand why it happened, I'm still shocked at how bad it looks.
Is actually better this way, complete trash is better then what BG3 was.
Lukewarm take: the Dragon Age franchise has been shit for 20 years and even DAO had significant problems. Maybe now it'll be put out of its misery at least.
And by just not agreeing to fuck them you lost relationship points or whatever.
DA2's got nothing on BG3 when it comes to aggressive gays. How the times have changed...
And it was complete shit regardless.
Dragon Age isn't even 20 years old. I won't say you're wrong, though. Every issue this trailer had was present since Dragon Age 2, including the Marvel-esque presentation, the gaudy art style, the overt gayness in everything, and the general ugliness in the characters (especially the women). I'm actually surprised the new game is being met with near-universal vitriol; it's like everyone has suddenly woken up and is seeing Dragon Age the way I've been seeing it ever since the first previews for DA2 were released.
And yeah, Origins honestly wasn't too far removed from the rest stylistically. A lot of the characters and dialogue had a proto-MCU feel where there was a tad too much goofiness and quipping going around. The writers even admitted to taking inspiration from Whedon shows with a lot of them.
that makes sense, it's not how I remember it, but it was a different era, before everyone was sick of everything whedon.
Why are you raging over Veilguard after the drivel that was Inquisition? It had intentionally ugly stronk womxn, troons, and MCU humor.
If you were playing a straight dude in Inquisition you had a grand total of two romance options: Cassandra (dyke looking face and haircut) and Josephine (fantasy French, so of course she's dark skinned).
iirc EA tried to force Bioware into turning Dragon Age into an annual release, wanted to make it something like Assassin's Creed. The problem is that it took several years for Bioware to make DAO so its spine was broken getting DA2 out the door. Multiple veterans that helped make Bioware the company it was left during or soon after development. The effects of this were not felt for a bit, but by then Mass Effect 2 was so far in development that game did not take a huge hit.
After that, Bioware has been doing nothing but taking Ls with Mass Effect 3, Anthem, and Mass Effect Andromeda. The best thing they can say about one of their games in the past 15 years is that the Mass Effect trilogy remaster was not a disaster too.
Over the past 10 years there has been so much brain drain of veteran employee talent that it's just like the bug wearing Edgar's skin as a suit in Men in Black. These aren't the same people who made Dragon Age Origins - these aren't even the same people who made Dragon Age Inquisition.
I admit at having a soft spot for Bioware and was hoping to turn around :(
The Bioware you cared for has been long gone. All the talent had left by ME3 at the latest.
Broward is dead. It's been dead for a long looooong time now
the DEIguard
From DA:O to DE:I
no one who made the original Dragon Age is left. the skinsuit is a full meat-puppet of homos, pedos, resentful hambeast women, and jews.
