Do they REALLY watch these shows? A part of me can't shake the feeling these leftists are like home wrecker sluts where they don't care about being with the guy in a relationship, they only get enjoyment out of destroying the relationship that's there.
I've seen plenty of people happy to gobble down that slop and ask for more. The average consumer has no standards.
Normie retards get their standards from the tv. If the multinational entertainment corperation tells them it's a good show, the slack-jawed consumers watching will believe it.
Yeah, that's the problem. We have the fake internet theory, but has anyone realized most of entertainment is this way?
It was kind of always that way - we were force fed what some Hollywood exec WANTED you to see, or thought you wanted to see it.
You know, the same people who were so out of touch during the Baby Boom that they thought people would be offended by the sight of pregnant women ...
The same people who got rid of the rural shows no matter how wildly popular they still were, because they themselves preferred "sophisticated" city settings with "modern day" problems for storylines ...
And they told us we couldn't wait for new seasons of what they wanted to push the most.
Anything the people liked gets cancelled just because. Or shifted around to different nights until the ratings say "cancel".
Starting with Norman Lear, old shows are FULL of The Message.
I think there are a few different sects in the normie retard tribe.
Defend the brand! Something was popular and feminized into a lifestyle brand (Marvel, HP, Twitch), they made it their identity, now it must be defended no matter how shit it gets.
If the chuds hate it... Tribal warfare, they don't even watch or read the thing, they just know the wrong people are attacking it, so it must be defended.
The default; Consume product get excited for more product. The typical tourist. Something got popular and they want in on it.
Not just TV either. Show a normie some classical architecture and they'll probably think "Why do all the buildings look funny? What's wrong with simple box shapes? Why did anyone bother to paint the ceilings?"
Same can be said of what they eat.
Narcissistic personality disorder as a sport?
I think most fit your description.
There are still B movies, you seem them in every streaming service.
And they’re even worse than B movies when I was a kid. Back then you could count on gratuitous nudity and at least one good, gory kill that blew the budget. Nowadays it’s all shitty plug in CGI blood splatter and, if you’re lucky, a chick not wearing a bra.
I think you underestimate the way people watch shows. I know plenty of people whose entire "home time" after work is to just sit down with their phone, family, or food and just shotgun 4-6 episodes of something constantly. Until they run out of shows and just consume whatever new thing happens.
You're a weeb, so you've probably done it with dozens of anime or manga that you can barely remember to even care about a few weeks after watching 24 episodes of it.
The only difference here is that the "numbers" of watchers is being used in a political war, but the majority of its watchers aren't involved in that and only being used to say people care about its themes.
I used to do that, I mean when I first got into anime I watched In another world with my Smartphone so yeah I did watch some trash sometimes.
But I chalk that up to being new to the medium than just accepting it. I've dropped A LOT of shows because they were just bland, lecturing or just insultingly bad. I'm know I'm not alone in that with some of my older relatives watching K-dramas now....despite no knowledge of Korean and bad eyesight for subtitles because 'it's pretty'.
I think we can just look at the drop off for current Doctor Who to show how many are like that will mindlessly watch and how many have a limit and will ditch if it goes beyond that.
And I think the numbers show that most people drop these shows pretty regularly too. Its why they always talk only about the first episodes or big finales "viewership" while ignoring that they might lose 60% or more watchers between ep 1 and 2, or season 1 and 2.
But I think we both know the large amount of people who just go on Crunchyroll or Mangadex or whereever and just click on what's on the front page to coomsoom because they've run out of other things to do and just want to be coomsooming. These shows are no different other than being spotlighted by the culture war, despite their viewerbase being largely not part of it.
There is a limit, as you said with Doctor Who, but its always very surface level rather than these themes the Leftists' ramble about. Doctor Who its entirely "does this main guy make me horny" while Star Wars its "does this lightsaber duel look cool" or something.
