Female fans are much more likely than male fans to be pushy in terms of trying to sexually assault the guy than male fans could ever be. If you go to any Con in the world you can see whatever male talent (who are massively below this guy in the rungs) getting groped by random girls or them demanding kisses or the like during these pictures.
In fact basically the entire KickVic thing is based on them doing that, and people blaming him for it.

Like it or not, Taylor Swift is a billionaire and an insanely popular music star. That means a lot of people could potentially stalk her/her boyfriend, either as a mad fan or someone who just wants to stir shit up. Even if you're rich, you don't want to deal with some sexual scandal and/or a lawsuit.
Heck even ol' Mike Pence openly said he wouldn't be alone with a woman without his wife present. He took a lot of shit for it, but we all knew why.

IIRC this is also a thing in the open source community when it comes to conventions. Don't be alone with women unless you want to have some allegations thrown your Way.

Yes, which gives you a safe distance and an easy, acceptable excuse that doesn't embarrass her.
Compared to being right next to her, with an easy claim that you "touched" her by that distance, and rejecting mid photo because you didn't like her groping you makes her look and feel bad. Which means she now needs to make you the bad guy.

Sure but then it's already happened. If I had a hot celebrity girlfriend I wouldn't want her getting groped and touched by dudes who are drooling over her. Overall these conditions are psychopathic but it's hard for me to find much fault in that one so long as she isn't ridiculously strict about it.
