To be fair, the captchas are getting increasingly obnoxious, especially if you have to archive many things. The performance and speed of the site has definitely decreased over time.
It would be nice if there was a way to mass-automate archiving with the website like in the past, but these days that's not really possible anymore.
Yeah, bots are very much the problem for the internet age lately, whoever figures out how to bork most of them is going to end up a billionaire. The main way to go at the moment though is small networked groups that are moderated by human beings because most big tech traffic is probably fake as fuck.

I bet that they have to do this because of bad actors trying to overwhelm the archive sites to try and fill it with useless crap.

I am actually unable to open the site with the captcha. It simply infinitely reloads it.
I don't care about a captcha. I care that it doesn't work on any halfway decent browser.
