Honestly, if it weren't Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft and, most importantly, Current Year, this could be interesting. There have been interesting "foreigner becomes a samurai" stories. But yeah, in Current Year, with AC/Ubi...it's utter shit. Zero benefit of the doubt.
It really is a shame they ran "black" into the ground. There are issues to criticize surrounding many aspects of blackness, sure. But it really shouldn't be an immediate turn off if the main character in some form of entertainment is black. We've had plenty of good entertainment with prominent black people in the past. But these woke fuckers have made that impossible. We now get Black people, instead of black people. Again: Zero benefit of the doubt.
We really did not. This is something people tell themselves to try to reconcile how they actually feel and avoid embracing the fact that the current disdain they harbour for minorities should have been there from the start.
If you rewatch BP you'll realize it's garbage. I enjoyed it at first because it "seemed* novel and that's about the only thing I had going for it. But let's break down black panther objectively: Internal inconsistencies abound. So Tchalla had his powers during the events of Civil War before he became Black Panther presumably because his dad was still alive. So the role is inherited? But wait, what's this? Other tribes can challenge you for the position of Black Panther. Including tribes that you don't even have sovereignty over. Wtf? And it's okay if you miss the deadline because Killmonger just shows up even though no one knows who the fuck he is and he apparently is entitled to a match as well. And he wasn't even from an opposing tribe.
So can anyone throw down the gauntlet?

Killmongers motives make no sense. Wakanda all but abandoned him but he wants to go back. America actually raised.him but he hates America. He hates America and whites but that didn't stop him from joining the US military to kill non Americans including non whites. In fact he enjoyed his time killing on behalf of America so much that he carved tallys into his own skin for each kill.
He's mad at wakanda for neglecting him even though no one knew or had any reason to know he existed and he knows they didn't know.
When Tchalla lost, he comes back and fights the now seemingly legitimate king and the royal guards don't even protect the new king. so wakandans just play fast and loose with laws there. I guess no different from blacks in the US so perhaps that's not an oversight but the writers deliberate function of them being black.
Wakanda decides the best way to help blacks is to make som community center in the US inner city instead of stopping ethnic conflict in neighboring African countries.
Those gorilla tribe people agree to help Tchalla instead of Killmonger even though Killmonger basically is doing what they were saying Tchalla should have done when they challenged him initially.
The story makes no sense and was basically a giant pander to blacks.
Black Panther is legitimately a trash movie. Nonsense plot, garbage effects, stupid premise. It’s in the bottom half of Marvel movies, and that’s a low bar.
The community center thing at the end cracked me up when I watched it. It's such a bad movie and the politics are completely unhinged.
This hyper-advanved civilization still uses trial by combat to decide on a leader. That's the biggest unintentional burn on blacks I've seen to date.
It's pretty much White Guilt, the Movie. Showing that blacks would be lords and masters of all creation if it weren't for evil whitey has implications no one really thinks about.
