Nexusmods Takes Down "Remove Misinformative Warning" Mod for Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered - Techopse - Trading Enthusiasm for Ange...
Imagine being so overly sensitive that you’re offended by the removal of an inaccurate politically correct disclaimer. Only a few days ago, we brought to your attention the shift in the nature of PC game modifications. Rather than being about freedom of ex...
I'm old enough to remember Fileplanet, which never never did this stuff. Maybe someone needs to bring that back.
The only reason Fileplanet and sites like that didn't do things like this is because the janny faction hadn't developed the doctrine yet.
Yes, I had that thought when out of curiosity I went and looked up when FiIeplanet went dark (2012.) Although, far left infiltration of gaming had started back then, as Doritosgate happened in that year.
It just hadn't spread everywhere yet.
I'm old enough, but I've never heard of that one--what was Doritosgate?
I had never heard about it either until GG kicked off. Deepfreeze has a section on it here
Ohhh, this. Heard of it, but never heard it called that. Thanks.
I remember a fan remade the Ghostbusters game from the Commodore days. I wish I could download it again.
Fileplanet had IP blocks for entire COUNTRIES. I personally never did anything there other than try to get some mods and my country was blocked for no reason I can figure out. In the current year, this authoritarianism would have become magnified hundredfold.
Blocking American addresses would be a valid course of action for any site these days.
i blocked serbia on an irc channel 10 years ago because all the spammers had .rs hosts.
The problem with excessive centralization of mods (and by extension much of the modding community) rears its ugly head again. When the owners and moderators of the websites and platforms are all pozzed piles of shit, this will happen more and more.
Here's hoping their shit site eventually burns down and everyone is able to salvage what useful mods are still left.
You have to have somewhere to host things that's easy, convenient, and reliable, and it turns out leftists spent the last 20 years making sure we can't ever do that.
Gotta love modern day mod hosting sites, NOOOOO YOU CAN'T MAKE A MOD TO REMOVE A GAY DISCLAIMER FROM A GAME BUT THE FRONTIER WITH IT'S LAUNDRY LIST OF DEGENERACIES IS ALLOWED!!!!
The balls on them to claim it's not political as well, this is what gets me so much purely from a gaming perspective with how much they try and gaslight us all. If it wasn't political, they wouldn't have any problems letting us switch it off with a simple button and yes that really is all it takes, it's not complicated so if you see them being bullshit artists on that as well you know they're lying.
I almost consider this a good thing, I want indie devs to take over and provide moddable options that aren't locked behind ridiculous outdated and buggy internal software most of the studios barely understand themselves and refuse to allow their fanbase to tinker with.
Well it's a good thing we have based mods to host this stuff so that he screeching leftists can't do anything to stop it.
BasedMods
Nexusmods is an utter bullshit site. Surely there’s a viable alternative that’s easy to use?
https://basedmods.eth.limo/
There isnt.
theortiically.. if i had a mod that changed all males to female, that is removing diversity and inclusion. so.. that means all those sexy skyrim mods will be banned
"You WILL consume the pozz."
Daily reminder you can easily setup a mod hosting site by using forum software, and the only way forward is to start a site that bans premium mods and caters to us while also implementing a profiction content policy.
