After the unapologetic public truthing of what certain Jews have been doing to Western societies? They don't have the means to threaten him, and it is hard for them to make themselves look worse than they do right now, but harming Musk after all this is one of the ways to do it. They could very well be at the point of begging, and they'd have to offer something goddamn huge. This meeting doesn't worry me. If he drops the lawsuits, THEN we can worry.
You may be right in which case from Elon's side, this visit works tactically against his opponents in his future lawsuits.
It's hard to call him antisemitic when Israel INVITED him to tour round the scene of the attacks. Going far right ain't gonna cut as much either when most of the intelligent side of the right is refusing to get involved and enjoying the self destructive civil war on the left that's happened since.
Which is sadly a smaller group than I had thought, especially if we're talking "mainstream." Essentially all mainstream high profile figures on the right got on board, which was pretty dang disappointing.
And it reaches the critical mass of social bullying that the group that's not going along with it is almost driven into hiding, making their numbers look even smaller. That's what happens when a certain group or narrative controls the view on the Current Thing. Especially when it's largely bipartisan, you don't even have much pushback.
Advertisers have supposedly been dropping out of X because of "hate speech," and Elon's tweet has been interpreted as "promoting antisemitism."
Last week, seemingly in response to the bad press, Elon posted that X would send advertising profits (possibly revenues?) to hospitals in Israel and Gaza.
it is hard for them to make themselves look worse than they do right now
Seeing as they're apparently the sole victims in the narrative of many US-based news outlets, it's hard to say that.

Adding that Musk also didn't play ball with muh Ukraine, the narrative could suggest the opposite.
Which neither political side of the public believes right now. Do you not realize how this whole thing is appearing, that only politicians and mainstream media are going hard-core Israel cocksucking?
Not to be a doomer but I work in the city with normie libs and can assure you that they believe everything the mainstream media tells them to believe - UNLESS some left-wing source "fact checks" a particular story and the fact gets changed. They will even claim to not trust news reports (understanding the Gel-Mann Effect) but go right back to treating WaPo as their god. It's funny because there's no consistency, like they were all against Big Pharma and now they love them. Despite not using Twitter they will tell you that Elon has brought hate and antisemitism to the platform, and it's too toxic for normal people to go there now. They don't necessarily think he's an "antisemite" but they think he's a stupid tech bro who makes selfish decisions that affect others without considering the consequences, exemplary of the sin of excess Capitalism.
Whether these normie libs support Israel or Palestine depends on how many Jews or Arabs are in their circle, and they usually don't discuss the topic at all because they are afraid to offend either side. It feels totally different from Ukraine where you had to pick a side. So it's hard to know what any of them really believe there.

Just to portray the narrative outside:

He's in their country. Just hold him down and drill the explosive chip into his skull.
I wouldn't put it past them.
