The billionaire tech mogul's comments came after the Taoiseach revealed new legislation to crack down on hate speech after violent anti-immigrant rioting Dublin.
The purpose is to gradually move towards pan-Western dictatorship. These laws were probably in queue just waiting for any plausible-sounding excuse to push them through.
They were. They were trying to get hate speech passed late last year into this summer. Popular opposition lead to the government quietly dropping the effort.
I had thought about this recently: would sarcastic/insincere positivity be a way to (maybe temporarily) skirt around censorship schemes? I recall people were giving false praise on a youtube video for some movie trailer, possibly avoiding deletion for "hate."
I don't mean to suggest you can't confront agents of the censors. Just considering one's desire or need to communicate with others on popular platforms that will probably follow the censor guidelines.
