Does anyone have any decent stand-up comedy recommendations? I obviously don't want anything woke but it doesn't have to be anti-woke either (although I'm certainly open to anti-woke recommendations as well). It seems like stand-up comedy is dying along with the rest of the entertainment industry.

Dankula is the best.
Jim Breuer and Nick Dipaolo, anti-woke and never apologize for it.
Theo Von is a bit too weird for me, and I could never get over how irritating I find MacDonald's nasal whine.
Otherwise I would only add Louis CK. Ron White is a riot too.
What do you think of Joe Rogan's stand up? It's OK I suppose, but he's more important as an ambassador for comedy . . . a sort of cheerleader.
Oh, how could I forget Nick DiPaolo? He's a SAVAGE . . . I'm also sorry that Joey Diaz has gone into retirement. He was great.
Joe Rogan is an example of the problem when an alpha of a group is surrounded by sycophants too afraid to be honest with him that he sucks at what he is most proud of.
I agree about Theo Von. I don't mind him and watch his podcast time to time.
But his obfuscating of his actual interesting upbringing (his father was like 70 when he had Theo, so was essentially a grandpa to Theo) with other confabulated stories to play on Deep South stereotypes can be off-putting and make him seem disingenuous.
Though all comedians make up and exaggerate stories, somehow it cuts differently from Von once you understand that he's playing a character or a caricature.
I actually found his routine on his father and family pretty funny, but most of his rap is just too weird and off-the-wall for me.
And I don't understand why his podcast gets so much traffic. Everybody's getting on it these days.
I wouldn't say Rogan sucks as a stand-up, but you're right about the sycophants.
That said, I really enjoy the "Protect Our Parks" episodes. Probably because of Shane Gillis, who in MHO is the current GOAT
I've yet to see anyone online admit that they find Rogan to be a legitimately funny comedian.
I have no particular hate for Rogan. But it's interesting that such a successful guy in other domains (sitcoms, reality TV, MMA, pioneering podcasting, shilling BS supplements) identifies and labels himself firstly as a road comic. Despite the fact that it's the one domain that there's a universal understanding that no one thinks he's good at it and he's just using his wealth and status to hang around with his comedian buddies and give himself more everyman street cred.
I don't watch Rogan post-Spotify, but I discovered Theo Von via JRE.
The memes BITD were that not only is Rogan a hack comic, but he doesn't understand & appreciate better comics stylings like Von on his podcast, allowing dry wit to to fly right over his head, ruining bits and even getting passive aggressive when comics were funnier than him on-air.
His podcast gets traffic cuz he is good at having fun conversations with all types of guests. He can vibe with RiffRaff and also talk with a scientist and still be funny. His Tucker Carlson interview is hilarious.
Theo Von did a great job of disarming Tucker.
Tucker vibed with Theo's zaniness from the start. Carlson also showed some raunchiness and vulnerability that I'd never seen before.
Shane Gillis has some funny stuff, but he does the "both sides amirite" thing a bit too much for me to be all in on him.
Cuz he works his material in NYC and grew up as a democrat
His Trump impression is top tier. No doubt about that.
Trump impressions are a good thing. The powerful should be mocked.
I never said it was a bad thing....
I'd throw out Kurt Metzger.
I've grown an appreciation for him watching him throw zingers from the second chair on The Jimmy Dore Show.
He released a 30-min sponsored special within the last year which I thought was just okay.
He also played a barfly character on Louis CK's precancelation drama Horace & Pete

I've been seeing a lot of shorts of Shane Gillis lately and every single one has me rolling.
His youtube skits are funny, but Ryan Long’s stand up is also pretty good too.
Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer are funny without being woke or political from what I recall. Nate Bargatze has a dry humor style but he's clean and fun.
If you're looking for older stuff, Bill Cosby is one of the best comedians of all time. If you're looking for modern standup it's basically been dead for a decade, the only recent comedy I've enjoyed is Gabriel Iglesias's latest specials.
Old Bill Burr
Anthony Jeselnik
Patrice O'Neal
Mark Norman
Shane Gillis
Andrew Schulz
I've only watched a single video of his, but Nicholas De Santo made me laugh and is definitely anti-woke.
Brent Morrin released a single stand up show on Netflix a while back and its still the funniest shit I've ever seen. Obviously don't pay for Netflix for it, but that's the only place its available.
And while he is an admitted "little liberal bitch boy" Cy Amundson's released two standup albums are basically my go to for solid laughs. The liberal part don't come up on the album, but people like to write off anyone of those groups (which is why this thread is mostly the same 6 or so recommendations everytime it comes up) so its worth a mention I suppose.
Because really that's the issue with the entire industry. Its disgustingly nepotistic, so as the Left became more intolerant of anyone who didn't march perfectly with them they filtered out anyone who didn't fall in line. You could see this as it happened with Carlos Mencia who everyone felt the need to take potshots at for his entire run, including Mr. "totally not woke bro" Joe Rogan who destroyed his career over "stolen" jokes while running every defense possible for Amy Schumer when she stole some. Same with the Blue Collar Comedy guys during their heyday, where it was an afront to every comedian that non-urban liberals could be represented.
Point of that rant is that standup is dying and isn't going to get better anytime soon.
Start with Jo Joy.
If you want cleaner stuff, look up Dry Bar Comedy Tour. I've become a fan of Brad Upton because of it.

It's hit and miss but there are some good ones.
