Statue was up for years. Only became divisive because people listen to young people. Not saying that young people can’t be smart but I’m not about to get lectured on race or history by any youth
I’m so tired of the western world wringing their hands about it’s history. You go anywhere in the world you will find one group who dominated and enslaved another
A dark and twisted part of me wonders if we'll ever get to the point where when blacks screech and yell about slavery, we'll have erased so many monuments and historical markers someone will be able to turn around and go 'What slavery? You're saying the nation split apart at one point and killed millions just to own fuckups like you? Uh huh, and where's your proof? Oh, you don't have any? Shut the fuck up and get back in line, then.'
Not that it'll ever happen like that. The master's tools cannot destroy the master's house, after all.
Meh, fuck it. Maybe it'll make for a good story, or something.
Thank you for the empathy. As an American, I also wept* when your protestors tore down the Colston statue, and got away with it scot-free. I can't live among people like that. This is going to come to a head at some point.
(*spiritually; I'm not gonna cry over a fuckin statue mate)
True. Although the older I get the more I realize I don’t know. Like the Socrates quote about the more you know the more you know that you don’t know. I’ve seen so many super smart young people but it’s applied so horribly
I'm in my early 20s and even I think this is disgusting and dishonest.
History is full of good and bad, but what's important is that we learn from it. We can accept that we're not perfect yet also turn negatives into positives. How can we do that if we can't see history for ourselves?
Ironically, I'm Latino. I'm not sure if that makes me one of the left's preferred victims, but even I think this statue deserves to exist. Erasing history is not the answer.
Only became divisive because people listen to young people the constant torrent of indoctrination pumped out by the left is effective at indoctrinating young people.
There isn't this epidemic of people sitting around contemplating life, and suddenly coming to these conclusions that they all have ultra leftist beliefs. They are being indoctrinated into it. The left has been at it - infesting everything from the inside - for 60+ years.
Because college professors and other leftists have told them they should be. To them, black people are victims, as helpless and dependent as trannies and fags..
I get the impression lately, though, that some black people are beginning to wake up.

Because we are moving towards having slavery again - WEF corporate slavery.

Don't worry, once they get used to chucking humanoid statues onto the pyre, they'll stop worrying about statues.
Young people can be smart, but rarely are they wise.
That said, the young people of today are generally neither.

I hope that this statue can somehow get rebuilt.
Agreed. I’m black and I think it should exist as well. These people don’t even bother learning about Robert E Lee
If only holographic projection was cheap, just slap one up at the site. It gets removed, repeat ad infinitum
Just don't bite your tongue 😆

That’s true and I was guilty of ignoring it. I used to assume that kids in college would go into the real world and see how things really are.
You and everybody else who just wanted to get on with life until the left wouldn't let us.
why would anyone be intimidated by a statue of a war hero anyway

Black vote groundswell for Trump next year?
