This shit is actually pretty funny.
So she had people running around setting things up for her to make her look good to this NPR reporter who was already going to write a puff piece blowing smoke up her ass...how'd that go?
That shit is hilarious.
Damn if NPR refuses to sugarcoat it this may be one of the saddest PR stunts we've seen.
This bitch left her office for 4 days to do this? What a fucking waste of time and money.
I disagree actually. If she had pulled it off the way she wanted, it would have been a waste of time and money. The fact that it ended up too bad for even NPR to fully sugarcoat it despite (or likely because of) having a whole team making arrangements in advance makes it a perfect thing to pull out when people talk about how great EVs are.
I HATE people with any power trying to abuse it for special treatment.
The funny thing is, I'd expect them to be making this illegal quickly. As it completely destroys any and all attempts at their "infrastructure" installations. Especially as most people won't do it, so these are basically always free and available parking anywhere you go.
But in this case, they were the ones doing it.
I have a feeling if someone did it to the Energy Secretary and she couldn't get a charging spot it would be illegal within 48 hours.
Probably wouldn't be hard to expand the parking laws we already have to cover it either.
That just proves how hard they are pushing this beyond reasonability. When even their own laws already on the books haven't had the time to catch up to the change.
The best part of this is, she had a literal team of people going ahead of her to reserve chargers and stuff, and it still turned to shit. What chance does a normal family who doesn't have "staff" have doing a road trip in a shitty EV?
I would have just pretended the whole thing didn't happen if I spent 4 days trying to make a trip that a gas powered car can easily do in 1 day and failed this badly.
I’m surprised NPR didn’t bury the story when it turned into a complete disaster.
Despite what people are saying it still reads like a puff piece to me. Like FrozeInFear said it's going to be used to justify more regulations or spending on infrastructure.
Goddamned shit-eating little bitch shilling for useless and destructive EVs as part of the colossal boondoggle that is "environmental policy."
Wearing a diaper on her ugly pan helps some (it highlights her deer-in-the headlights eyeballs), but just reminds me that another drive to fear us all up over a nonexistent virus threat is upon us.
God, this shit gets old. I'm ready for . . . I don't know what . . . the apocalypse, I reckon..
I must be so conditioned that I didn't even notice. Why the fuck is the energy secretary wearing a mask? The photo credit says she was speaking at a university.
Don't worry she learned absolutely nothing from this experience
All I can see this doing is increase their calls for funding electric infrastructure or demand policies requiring parking lots have (more) charging stations.
It's a win-win stunt in their eyes. Either the trip goes on without a hitch, or they need immediate resolutions (funding) to make "progress."
Did anyone in the Department of Energy discover EV chargers with the entire cable missing because a crackhead cut it off and sold the copper? It would've been funny if they did.
“White House spends billions on shit common sense can tell you for free; film at 11.”
It's hillarious. Her electric ride had to be escorted by gas cars.
Lol. LMAO even.
