How does Zuck manage to fail when he’s been given a government sanctioned monopoly
FB peaked years ago. Now he has billions in cash and no clue what to do with them that multiplies their value in ROI. I can't imagine what one could do in the tech sector, either.
If it wasn't tech, one could always make a couple of precious metal mines around the world: that would certainly be profitable.
To expand on the other comment about censorship. Zuck said it was going to be a happy place free of arguments particularly politics. That meant it was only left with a lot of shallow stuff and corporate shit which was the goal. I might try to find his original words.
People stopped signing up when they realized that you can't delete your account without deleting your Instagram account too. Also shiny new thing needs to be used.
One thing to add to the reasons already posted here is that until very recently it was only available by mobile app and not website. It’s clear they rushed it out the door because of Musk buying Twitter.
People complained the feed was full of shit they didn't care about, at a time they have other platforms that already suggest content they do care about.
And with alot more censorship, so nobody to keep it interesting by taking refuge there.
It's no longer culturally possible to create a new social media site in the same way we had Myspace/Facebook/Twitter. Like every other problem in the Western world, this is 100% due to communists.
How does Zuck manage to fail when he’s been given a government sanctioned monopoly (CIA chose him for his compliance and ability to follow rules.)
This is how they chose him :
“Mark - we want someone who will never question our authority and never try to defend his users. Someone like Spez”
“I will let you sleep with my ugly wife”
“Guys, we found ourselves a new Spez”
Does his "wife" have a penis? He's not the true reincarnation of Spez unless he's offering up the fat troon who's been pillaging his prison wallet.

Literally the happy dystopian version of The Good Place that drove everybody crazy in the first season hahaha
Robot Zuck : ''Threads is going to be stricted limited to rainbows and flowers, like We Happy Few.''
Threads : ''Unhappy and Very Few.''
Bot Zuck : ''Shit. Shut it down.''
poor meta... so much money yet almost irrelevant

All the CIA's top programmers must be busy fighting Russia and China.
You mean fellating.
No one knows and no one cares, which really tells you all that you need to know about it.
It sank like it had been torpedoed
Edit: it was too much of not enough of the right kind of censorship iirc

I'm sure the quest 3 will have an app for it.
Meta was the perfect name for it.
It's the flavor of the month.
Now the month is over and no one cares about the meta.
