Why does an online encyclopedia spend twice as much on "addressing the racial inequities" than hosting it's servers? Who knows.
It was a grift from the very beginning, long before woke shit became fashionable. Jimbo Wales has a long storied history of trying to monetize his status as Wikipedia's founder, including using the Wikimedia Foundation's credit card to pay his bill at a Russian "massage parlor".
I just about spit my drink out laughing when I saw a donation popup on wikipedia the other day that started with "A special message from Jimmy Wales..." This man's grift rivals the wealthiest TV evangelists.
Maybe the owner was thai? It doesn't get more 'adressing racial inequalities' than supporting a thai entrepreneur in russia
And then they beg every single year wish thee was an actual alternative... I basically use old encyclopedia (physical) and general search for stuff elsewhere.
