I guess she should have gone to rehab instead of saying "No, no, no."
Cuz when I think of Amy Winehouse's problems, leftism comes high on the list...
(For those lurking and don't know who this is, this was Amy Winehouse)
I knew about the drugs and drinking. I didn't know she was leftist. Sad to hear. I do enjoy jazz elements in music like what she made.
I just looked up her Wikipedia page and found a couple of highlights I hadn't known about. Likely Atheist Jew, and apparently 'exhibitionist parents' (per commentary quote).
It's such a shame that Back to Black is unlistenable due to the distortion caused by the mixing due to the loudness war. Doesn't matter the quality of your speakers, it's like listening through the broken speakers of a 90s Corolla.
She was talented. I didn’t get into her music til after she died. Didn’t know about the background stuff
The only song of hers I'm familiar with is Rehab from Rock Band 3.
The line "they said go to rehab, I say no, no, no" didn't age well.
It was bound not to. At some point, either you quit or die.
You know it's bad when we can now play the game: which one ruined their looks and life, meth or leftism?
Identify This Human is a game I consistently lose, so I must ask, who is this?
27 Club member Amy Winehouse.
Pretty sure that's drugs.
Imma go with heroin.
cocktails. of alcohol and drugs
As I said the other day. This is just the rockstar-life completely sucking women dry. Has there ever been a female rockstar that had a lasting career and aged somewhat gracefully?
From the top of my head I'd consider Tina Turner, and Marie Fredriksen (because I am and always will be a Roxette-Fanboy), maybe Suzanne Vega ... But then?
I have another one. Pat Benatar.
"Rockstar?" I can't think of one. That said, singer Edie Brickell did have a minor hit in the late 80s with her group and has been doing this and that since then. Ended up marrying Paul Simon and, amazingly, they've stayed married for decades despite the huge age gap.
Not a rockstar but has been in the music business and, despite not getting into the production or A&R side like a lot of musicians did, seems to have had a decent life path.
Kim Gordon? She's 70 and looks like it, but not an absolute mess.
Post Reported for Rule 12 - Falsehoods
Apparently the picture on the right was the result of drug abuse, to the point where she would go on to have an OD? Is this correct?
