I noticed this a lot when I still used Reddit. 9 times out of 10, if a commentator in a nerdy sub had a female handle and/or acted overtly female, they were a tranny. The most obvious tell was when they volunteered their gender in response to “female problems” posts. Stuff like “ladies of Reddit, tell me about your bra issues”, most of route respondents would be trannies trying to cement their status as “real girls”.
It doesn't matter, because the one who posted that thread will clearly do whatever it takes to garner attention. It doesn't matter if they have to lie to do it. If there isn't a real situation for which they can make themselves a victim, they will invent one.
Simple, don't play with randoms online. Especially not with voice chat. I don't, because it's a cesspool of bullshit. It's not some targeting females thing.
Women have in their head that things are targeted to them because they are female. It's not. I was telling a woman last week that was going on about the whole car dealer tried to screw them with all the extra shit to sell thing. Except they do that shit to everyone too. One place I used to go tried to sell me brakes I'd just replaced myself less than a thousand miles before. Or most recently some windshield wipers to replace the ones I had put on the day before.
I personally don't understand the appeal of multiplayer. I game when I don't want to socialize. I can imagine gaming with people I know, but I'd never play with a bunch of randos.
I guess I did in my Warcraft days, but that was a long time ago. There was enough mature people in the community way back then that you could find fun people if you tried hard enough. You could also find some assholes.
Never have since though. Even went I went through my FPS phase I never talked to randoms at all. I either play with people I know in person or by myself.
The main appeal for me is that nothing gets my heart pounding like FPS multiplayer.
Randoms can be really annoying, but the majority are just regular dudes like you and me.
This past week I got the classic, "I'm going to rape your mom" comment from a teammate. Rather than go to reddit and cry about it, I muted him and kept playing.
Edit: I should mention that in the 4 years since I returned to FPS multiplayer, I've gotten maybe 5 teammates who said shit like that to me. I think this problem is made out to be much worse than what's actually happening.
I was in a GTPlanet forum recently and called out the forced DRM in Forza 2023.
I was told that hopefully, I didn't have a phone or email account if I didn't like this push for constant connectivity in everything.
I apparently didn't have room to talk if I did.
Because technologies that were expressly designed for communication from the outset are totally the same as products being designed first to entertain THEN get adapted around communication.
The amount of cope I see on that site is truly pathetic.
Isn't it crazy how people can be like that?
Literally having nothing else worthwhile in their lives other than video games and therefore being perfectly okay with bad design choices that let them get away with using online games as substitutes for real life human interactions and experiences?
Sounds like those Diablo devs, “don’t you guys have phones?” I bet most of the people you were interacting with grew up always connected and really only play the current game. They can’t think ahead at all and in their minds why would you ever want to play the has-been once it’s gone?
I'll bet it's because of chumps like those that game preservation is such a criminally low priority these days.
They can't possibly consider the idea that just because a franchise gets a new game doesn't mean it replaces the previous games.
Every game is different. The people I interacted with refused to understand that simple concept; not everything that was in the precious games will carry over to the new ones in the same way.
Even if they did, the context and structure in which the mechanics and content are used will be different from game to game.
Many modern pop culture consoomers cannot seem to think long term; they simply do not think about the possibility of deciding to play or watch an older work either for old time's sake, curiosity, or literally any other reason.
Only to have it not be accessible at all because it reached a BS expiration date.
What do you think some good solutions for changing this mindset are?
Yeah people can be quite shitty. Sorry for your troubles.
This is peak Reddit right here. Not sure why such simple words can evoke such an image of a sniffling simp, but it does.
it's really stupid that in this day and age someone has to deal with this.
people need to do better.
Pretty much exactly the same, but with [current day] thrown in, too. First still manages to be more pathetic, though.
Maybe because they do nothing but play games and are incapable of interacting with the opposite sex, my guess "mommy issues "
Thank you, Dr. Freud.
Also, from the OP:
I do my best to no go in with Randoms, but my schedule is weird, and I play mostly during the day, so my people aren't always available.
Now, there could be plenty of reasons for that (assuming the whole story isn't complete bullshit), but it's kind of funny the commenter saying people do nothing but play games, while the OP is saying they play games in the day.

It invokes such imagery because it is scripted, meaningless platitude from weak, ineffectual people. You make that association because so many Redditors fit that description to the letter. You've heard stories, and you've seen them.

Reddit is full of curated, pre-recorded responses:
"Hope this helps."
"Thanks for the gold kind stranger!"
"Touch grass."

Thank you, Dr. Freud.
There is something resembling comedy that they want to invoke psychological doctors and Freudian complexes, yet they are completely diseased in the head. Hallucinations and delusions are not signs of a healthy mental state.

I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that they have a job where they work a shift that would only enable them to play during the day. I didn't look to confirm that one way or another.
More low-effort fodder, I know. I just thought it might be just entertaining enough to endure the second-hand embarrassment. Maybe it's not the correct term, but I can't help but think "astroturfing". Voice communications in Call of Duty are not at all common anymore. This is even more true in DMZ, where you'd have to be close to another player to hear them. That's if they even have their mic on in the first place. I've played over 300 matches, been on teams both with and against women, and I can guarantee this isn't something that is happening. Obviously I don't mean "This literally never happens." I mean it maybe happened one time each to a total of two or three people in that thread. Somehow this inane bullshit gets approximately 150 upvotes.
He plans to send dick pics, doesn't he?
Behold the mighty she-nis, both inches
They're definitely a mutant. Check their subreddit activity.

Calling themselves "girl gamers" is all the tell you need that it's a tranny.
It doesn't help that troon mods were placed on the moderation team.
How do they know you're a woman when you're using a voice chat?
Just say you're a 'trans man'! Problem solved!

Yup, pretty dang pathetic. A few comments:

Shit talk is part of the other plays in the game trying to make you psychologically off balance. If it gets to you, you lost.

Ofccourse she couldn't just Google it. She had to tell a bunch of people under the guise of asking suggestions re: buying a voice changer.
