I will say, I think your argument when it comes to Cyberpunk is not great. The other stuff seems spot on, but Cyberpunk seems like cherry-picking. That 2020 image is a nightmare, I'll give you that, but the final game looked nothing like it; generally the characters are relatively attractive, or at least fit the theme, without being uglified. What's the story with the 2020 image, I don't even remember seeing it?
EDIT: Alright, that Cyberpunk collage is compelling, maybe it's worse than I remembered. A lot of the main character look fine, but some of those others are certainly real janky.
Ugh, she looks like me. Society is lost, send the meteors. How pathetic do you have to be to cry over a fat video game character? And to do it on stream? And then to post a tweet about your bullshit on stream? I can't put into words how gross that is. Also, is that a default character or something? Or just character creator?
Oh, and I didn't realize Dove had quadrupled down. Yikes.
OH GOOD LORD, THAT'S DEFAULT AND UNCHANGABLE?!?!?!?!
Blizzard, what the actual shit? I know you've fallen massively over the years, but I expect better, even from you!
Holy fuck. My mind is actually blown. Like, as an option this is fine. Dark Souls style (and so many other games, that just sprang to mind as having weird character options); let people make ridiculous clown characters, or attractive characters. But to just have this be the druid character, wow. Also, like the theme of this thread...this isn't even just a fat character. It's a fat character with that very specific "modern beauty standard." Where it looks like something actually went wrong somewhere along the way, and the face is actually fucked up.
I actually downloaded the Diablo 4 beta during that first free weekend they had figuring that I'd never buy a Blizzard game but may as well see if it was decent since it was free and I like to play an ARPG for a couple days from time to time... I got to the character select screen, looked at all the models, and uninstalled it without even trying.
Lore-wise I guess she was storing up for winter hibernation in bear form, just getting snug in her den, and that's when Lilith showed up. So inconsiderate!
An agree, ugly, obese bitch? And you're fucking proud of that?
Imagine how many times a guy would be told to kill himself if he saw a picture of a balding, middle-aged, overweight man as the hero character, and thanked the developers for making characters look like him.

Even worse, that streamer certainly couldn’t do anything remotely active, and she has to know it. She lives being a fat whale unable to run five steps or climb stairs without panting EVERY DAY! The action hero should never look like you! If she looks like you, it shouldn’t be a “how nice” moment it should be a “well, my immersion is ruined” moment.
And you want to play that? I hope it runs like you too. In the first dungeon "Escape from the enemy warrior" or whatever. You die, over and over, because its walking pace is faster than the earthquake generator you call running.
Who wants to play themselves in games anyway. Even if I make a character like me, I often don't, it gets improved on a bit. I don't want to play me.
Yes...ish. I still don't even like opening the door to that argument though. "Ugly," isn't the problem. That kind of uncanny valley, modern beauty standard thing is gross, and goes well beyond ugly. Also, to be clear, I'm talking in general, not Cyberpunk 2077.
There's a key different between "not attractive" (lots of cyberpunk genre characters), and this sort of intentional, downright unsettling ugly we're seeing in games and movies nowadays. Hell, unattractive people can still even be charismatic or badass; soldiers, mercenaries, crime bosses, mutants, etc. But characters who are ugly in this way are just gross.
I certainly don't demand everyone in games be "hot" or anything. I just don't want intentional ugly rubbed in my face. Grizzled? Scarred? Mutant? Old? Young? Maimed? Sure. Intentional ugly? Get out of my face.
You were right the first time - there are plenty of normal and good looking people in the game alongside the dystopian fatties and danger hairs. He incorrectly compared two different characters in the same game to support the claim of ugly regression. The girl in the ads was some cyberpsycho character while the rest are player character models. There are also different joytoys (prostitutes) in the game and I don't remember the one he shows in the next picture. Closest I could find is this one with different hair and lighting, but not quite as bad looking.
On the other hand... it gets worse. I don't know if it's just the camera angle, but any last remnant of beauty has finally been erased. So he's totally right on the general point, and developers choice of marketing i.e. "face of the game" changing.
Oh, god. I hadn't looked super close at that art, as it's usually zoomed way out. Dang. That's 100% avoidable ugly, and 100% intentional ugly. Shame, they used to be amazing.
Man, we really got robbed of Hot Aloy.

We will never see the stats on how many people played female druids in Diablo 4.

There’s a rudimentary character creator but all the options for female druid are various flavors of ham planet.

The Asian sorceress is the only character or NPC in the entire d4 game that's even remotely attractive, and then only from the neck down.
My guess is they had an ugly model ready but were told it just wouldn't sell in Asia without her at least not looking hideous.
But, which "body type" would you have used?
Also, I'm been itching for an ARPG recently, actually. What are some of your favorites? Thanks.
how would a druid even get that fat

CONDISHUNS
She eats too many vegan oreos.
Eat the other druids.
The same way a raccoon does.
More like a shaved bear passing as a human.
"She looks like me"

Lol, I just pictured the next Assassin’s Creed trailer featuring porky Kyle Gass from Tenacious D, deadpan as he leaps from building to building

They for sure made female V much uglier, not sure about the rest.
Pretty much most people in cyberpunk are ugly.. avg at best. Even the corpos. With all that tech, you can look like the hottest bitch ever.
